I believe a socially just world where all human beings are treated equally—regardless of race, sex, age, sexual orientation, etc.—is possible, and I believe that the eradication of religion or worldwide war is not necessary to achieve this ideal.
I raise my children specifically not to prejudge anyone based on their politics or any of the above factors, but instead to let their character prove who they are. Unfortunately, I know damn well that even if this world (which I do not conceive as a utopia) is possible, human beings are inherently narcissistic and violent, and we will never achieve it. My own intermittent failures don't excuse me from the obligation to try.
My post here was cynical, not literal. Get over it, and yourselves.
