Puscifer are dogger imo. And while he might not "care what his fans think", they are the reason why he is where he is today. (making wine?) So he holds some responsibilty to making some new material on at least one of his bands!

maynard does not strike me as the money grubbing type. he seems to be more dedicated to his passion, so I don't think he owes anyone anything. unless I were to lend him a dub or something, then of course he would owe me

Not saying he's money greedy, not at all, in fact refusing to release an album for 7 years would seem to indicate the opposite. I just think he's largely lost his passion for music.

As for the Tool album sucking, as much as i want to believe that, I just don't think it will be -musically. The only drawback will be vocal work because, as Rowan said, he's lost interest in music.

i'm guessing that he doesn't see it as "he owes" anyone for whatever money/success he has acquired, so in that sense does not feel obligated to pay his fans back with more albums

i'm just taking a wild guess that that's not how maynard approaches his creative process

my guess is he has one more full length album left in him. again, just a guess

Yeah, as much as I'm a fan of Billy Howerdel, he just doesn't seem to have enough ideas to carry APC ,as can be seen with his pretty sporadic output with Ashes dIvide, and APC is much less of a band/collaborative writing unit than Tool. My guess is that a new album from Tool would be better than a new APC album

this was actually better than i was expecting. with all the pucifer bullshit i've been fearing that maynard's lost his midas touch. though this song didn't have the teeth that anything from Mer De Noms did, the overall composition is pretty interesting. it's got a nice little progress. If anything i'd call it a grower. Still not tool, but it's not as bad as everyone is saying.

Rerelease the same material that's already out there with a bonus song so people will buy it. Or allow new listeners the chance for a "best of" album. Still seems stupid since their discography is only 3 albums. Their last album was released 9 years ago. Aside from Maynard who is in the popular band Tool, this band is hardly relevant anymore unless they are still touring/releasing new music, which a new song on a compilation album is not.

No to mention of those three albums, I am one of a handful of people who actually like Emotive.

Yeah, it was covers plus one original song and a "remix" of Pet. While the covers sound nothing like the originals (The Marvin Gaye cover is more atmospheric than anything else), they are interesting takes on the material.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the albums they had. I'm against the idea of this guy jerking his fanbase off because people see "new song" and just buy the shit they already have when they could just go get the song indivually (legally purchasing, if available as one song, or ripping it from YouTube/dowloading it). That and I feel this band sells because of the association with Maynard which isn't enough justification to get a compilation album from their only three old albums.
