Metallica, Crue+GNR Supergroup

Confirming earlier reports, producers of CBS reality tv show 'Rock Star' have revealed that Mötley Crüe kitman Tommy Lee will be the subject of the show's second series, due to run this summer in the US.

Lee will be joined by ex-Metallica and Voivod bassist Jason Newsted and former Guns N' Roses guitarist and solo artist Gilby Clarke. The three will use the show, which is derivative of the 'Pop/American Idol' format, to find a singer; last summer '80s pop-rock giants INXS replaced the deceased Michael Hutchence with Season One winner J.D. Fortune.

INXS followed up the massive success of the series with a successful album in November and a subsequent headlining tour and the show's producers hope to repeat the story, having hired studio wizard Butch Walker to produce the album- Walker previously worked with Lee on his 2005 album 'Tommyland: The Ride,' co-writing, co-producing and lending guest vocals to the lead single 'Good Times.'

The show will be presented by topless models Brooke Burns and Dave Navarro, who also headed the first series.

Well half the time Dave doesn't have a shirt on, some fags must like him...

It sounds like an alright idea to me, Tommy Lee is pretty awesome, cept for his whole popculture, reality show and rap turnaround. He used to be awesome.

Newsted can suck my balls.

And then there was Gilby, I dont mind him. He reminds me alot of Slash, not by the skill but stage presence and looks. Even though he didn't do much for GnR his solo stuff was pretty cool and I like his voice. I also liked when he was in Snakepit, the new guy can suck my balls.
