What a ridiculous album title, who do they think they are, Red Sparowes? Seriously though, this will probably be a 2/5 if not worse.

Band died after max left. Recent albums are not as bad as nation, against or roorback but they're nothing special

The album title is quite poetic actually

Kairos was good, so I have hope that this band will continue to be decent.

does anyone like their post max output
|
| |
^ No

Dante had some good songs, and so did Kairos. A-Lex was boring, and most people agree that the rest of their 90's post-max stuff was lame, yeah.

Wow this is probably gonna suck so hard.

Some of you guys formulate opinions based on what's popular and can't seem to view things by your own experience. I don't agree with a lot of you. I have liked this band as much with Max gone as when he was there. If you love Max so much, go and buy Soulfly albums instead of complaining about what they've become.
I really liked Derreck's work. They weren't masterpieces but they have gotten better. Dante was awesome and so was Kairos. Alex was an experiment that didn't work the intended way, but at least they try to mix it up. Which other metal band can do a Prodigy Firestarter cover the way they do?
In all fairness? Max's voice gets terribly boring and cliche'd after a while. You'd have stopped listening to him had he continued on. Now you just complain cause you can.

I think Roorback had its moments. Mind War is a good song but it's just not a Sepultura song. Lacks the heavy grooves that are a staple of their sound. And Convicted In Life is awesome. Plus Sepultura have continued the tradition of awesome covers (started with Max with the likes of Orgasmatron and Bob Marley's War) with their covers of Angel and Firestarter etc. (although I admit the U2 cover's a bit meh). Max has covered Nacao Zumbi a few times with Soulfly so wonder how Sepultura's cover will end up. Also the Death cover.

I tried adding the album to the Sputnik database but it wouldn't fit

As someone who has listened to every single one of their post-Max era albums, I can safely say that you should go out there an explore some of less popular forms of thrash (whatever the fuck genre Sepultura do) and then come tell me that everyone doesn't have a right to rip on this band. They're an exhausted death/ thrash band that should have called it a day after Max left because their output has been extremely lazy and lacking anything memorable. Even the bands they've influenced are now miles ahead of where they were in terms of song-writing and at least some sort of uniqueness. You can almost hear them panting with every chug of the guitar because they're fucking old and have run out of ideas, hence why they cover Prodigy. Everyone in here dishing out criticism towards Sepultura isn't doing it because it's the popular thing to do. It's cause they suck!

Yeah Kairos had its moments. Relentless is good (I particularly like how Andreas' guitar squeals in the solo) and it has another few respectable covers in Just One Fix and Firestarter.
