well, this is actually pretty fuckin' cool.
EDIT: FIR is super lame though, dunno why they included him.

Definitely dig. Shane's lead work is insane on these few songs. The EP drops tomorrow by the way

oh, sleeper and falling in reverse should have nothing to do with each other.
|

Shame the production is so flat and dull compared to CoF.

"Shame the production is so flat and dull compared to CoF."
Yeah, I was off put by that too. I stopped caring that much when I remembered that this was crowd funded and they recorded this themselves. They'll get in the groove again production-wise, it'll just take time. The musicianship is definitely still there!
|
| |
Hopefully the full length surpasses CoF, but I doubt that....and now with the production. I'll gladly wait another year for them to figure this stuff out.

song is aite.
|
| |
omg Oh, Sleeper what are you doing.
"The song features guitarist Jackey Vincent, from Falling In Reverse."
Whywhywhywhywhy
Ep is available now on itunes for 10 fucking dollars are you kidding me. this band is some money grubbing bitches now that they are independent. song sucked
|
| |
Missing the aggression they had on Children of Fire. This is okay tho
|
| |
Jacky Vincent is actually a good guy and he has talent. It's not like they got radke on the track. I know this because of no "white boy on the beat rockin gucci sneaks".
|
| |
haha they aren't "money grubbing bitches." Of course funds are going to be way tighter and things will be more expensive for a band of this caliber to lose the label's financial support.
song was sweet.
|
| |
But dude they got $24,000 over their goal on the indiegogo thing. I hardly think they need to charge ten bucks for this ep. And yes I know you can just buy the songs individually but that's not the point I was making.

So, did they leave Solid State or did they get dropped by Solid State? Either way, it's good they're off that label. I've heard over and over again how Solid State is sickeningly greedy. They take almost all the money that should go to bands. It's part of what almost caused Underoath to break up a while back when Aaron was still in the band. And I remember one of the members of Oh Sleeper wrote this long note a while back about how hard it is to be in a touring band and that you don't make any money. I'm betting in that situation, it's because he didn't realize how much Solid State was stealing from them. Also, I have a friend who was in Gwen Stacy and he told me that they only money that they ever received from Solid State for their last album, "A Dialouge" was a check for $13 around the time they broke up.

Pretty sure iTunes messed up the price considering the EP is available for $4.99 from Amazon (where I bought it), so I doubt they went "money grubbing".

It's supposed to be $5 on Itunes. Micah tweeted about it yesterday, and said it wasn't right. He said it should be changed by release
|

chorus is lame, but rest of the song was pretty cool

Ah, ok well I take that back then
@ Tom They completed their album contract with solid state and said that they chose not to renew or seek out other labels cause they wanted to remain independent so they could make and release whatever they wanted (and they had all this new material they were working on that was so different and was gonna blow our minds lol) which I thought this ep was gonna be an example of instead it sounds like a bunch of COF Bsides.
|
| |
^Oh okay. That makes sense. Bummer they didn't do something better with their freedom. I definitely agree that these are B-Side quality tracks.
|
| |
For the record FIR's guitarist is actually pretty great at his instrument. He just happens to be in a band with the biggest cunt in the industry.
|
| |
@ Tom
Yeah I know dude. I really thought they were gonna do something cool with this. Band has been in the biz for awhile and I don't remember the band itself ever hyping up their own shit so hard so I was pretty excited for this but whatever. I guess they are just progressing away from the sound that I like.
