Yeah this song beats the shit out of The Refusal. Thought they ended the song well considering it sounded fairly awkward live. Song lacks riffage, but it is the single so I am not too worried (take All I Know as an example, not too much riffage there). Pre-ordered the album and DVD!

Also, stoked Sky Machine is on the album, apparently song is epic.

I think Karnivool may have pulled a Megadeth. Release a shitty song first, lower everyone's expectations and THEN release the good song. In Megadeth's case it was still a mediocre song, but it sounded decent. Karnivool may have tricked us into thinking a decent song is really good.

The Refusal sounded pretty bad to me. I was terribly put off by it.

Yeah i wasn't too fond of The Refusal, but this is much better. Maybe The Refusal will sound a bit better as part of the album like Set Fire to the Hive did on Sound Awake.

Yeah I'm a huge fan of the band - Sound Awake is tied with OK Computer as my favourite album of all time, but I know a boring track when I hear one. "Favourite band" or not, this is a really boring track and I'm anticipating the new album with trepidation

Yeah that was really average, as was The Refusal. Think this is gonna be a big disappointment which is a shame given that they were one of my favourite bands a few years back (saw them four times on the Sound Awake tour).

Great video, beats the shit out of most half-hearted music videos these days, song failed to grasp me though.
If Sound Awake was them at their best, and it wasn't an amazing album, then this could be terrible but I have hope in they asses.

song gets listened to and judged. You can't be bleethering about the album as a whole because it is
not out for reference and context. People talk about what they have to go on, which in my case is just
disappointing songs that are far worse than anything off Themata and Sound Awake.

The Refusal being a B-side is neither confirmed nor rejected, so it's irrelevant.

Zuzek, that came out more out of frustration than anything else, and you're right. I just know these types of tracks usually make a lot more sense in the album's context-- I just think it's important to keep that in mind while hearing new songs, especially from a band like Karnivool that has a certain ebb and flow to their albums.

Video was weird, seems like they're gonna make a continuation of the video with another song.

I thought they made the drums a bit too loud and intrusive, it was drowning out all the other instruments and even Kenny's voice. It wasn't even that nice a drum beat, it was just banging the cymbal as loud as he possibly could. It might grow on me though.

Sounds boring but most Karnivool songs usually do at first.

Looks like the album is an album to listen to all the way through. Themata's individual songs stood up fine by themselves.
