ehhh
|
| |
Objectively speaking you say?
|
| |
omg
|
| |
holy shit what happened to approving well-written articles we were on a roll
|
| |
We are going epic as fuck!
|
| |
I wonder if it is intentional that their third part of the trilogy is named after their drummer Tre Cool
|
| |
Wow these dudes are over-confident. Gonna blow so hard.
|
| |
Sounds interesting, to say the least.
|
| |
"This is the best material we've ever written"
Unless you're re-recording Dookie I highly doubt that Billie Joe.
I'll check it out cause it's Green Day but yeah, expecting this to suck huge sweaty balls just like their last two albums.
|
| |
My article was slightly less... terrible than this.
|
| |
what
|
| |
shoving out that many songs at once is never a good idea
|
| |
this cant be good
|
| |
this is a great article
album will be awful
|
| |
Thrice the pain
|
| |
No me gusta.
|
| |
barefoot you say?
|
| |
"“Instead of making one album, we are making a
three album trilogy."
Yeah not like those two album trilogies. These guys are the REAL DEAL
|
| |
¡Tré!
oh haha i see what they did there
:|
|
| |
way to copy alchemy index.....except you died after american idiot
|
| |
Holy freaking fucking shit .
|
| |
"Objectively speaking, this may also be translated as "And we thought, why make one shitty album when we can make three even shittier ones!"
LOLLLLLLLL
|
| |
literally why
|
| |
We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as fuck!”
american idiot was as "epic" as they should have gotten
|
| |
news, now with 100% more unnecessary opinions
|
| |
wow if this is their most creative point, i'll be tuning out now...
|
| |
I for one am anxious to hear them. I like the last two albums.
|
| |
An awesome idea but I doubt Green Day could ever pull it off..
|
| |
Isn't it tres?
These guys suck in spanish too
|
| |
I guess double albums are overrated nowadays
|
| |
This will suck. American idiot was the last good thing they'll do.
|
| |
Article is just as over-confident as this band right now. Too subjective. :/
|
| |
Article sucks, Green Day sucks
|
| |
billy jo arm strong is like the gedy lee of the 21th generation imho
|
| |
"Isn't it tres?
These guys suck in spanish too"
They probably want to be cool and make it three letters like everything else.
|
| |
Even when I was 12 I still hated these guys.
|
| |
Fuck all of you
Last album was the only one that wasn't good. Sort of terrified and interested at the same time
|
| |
Judging by the fact that the last album was completely awful I think it's safe to say these three will be the worst thing to ever happen to music.
|
| |
billy jo arm strong is like the gedy lee of the 21th generation imho
Wait until your Father hears about this.
|
| |
geddy lee and billie jo both suck the cock
|
| |
Yeah not like those two album trilogies. These guys are the REAL DEAL
Chuckled heartily
|
| |
nimrod was the last good thing this band released.
|
| |
This could be good since the only other time they made a concept record it worked, but I hate the title. uno! dos! tre! - ..really?
|
| |
Going to go listen to Kerplunk and wallow
|
| |
Great article, Fitz
|
| |
I really stuck to the core news values on this one.
|
| |
would be funny if all albums provoked a revolution
|
| |
This sounds as though it will be epic as fuck!!!
|
| |
I remember the first time i heard Green Day, my friend turned it on and i said "oh man, turn that shit off" and he did. The end.
|
| |
21st Century sucked cause there were too many songs/ideas being put into one. Now we have 3 whole albums coming up? Expecting tons of filler.
|
| |
Objectively speaking, this may also be translated as "And we thought, why make one shitty album when we
can make three even shittier ones!"
I may have just lost respect for this site. You should try to stay professional and unbiased, without resorting to bashing bands in news articles. No, i'm not a fan of Green Day's newer work (though I do like the older stuff) but this is just ridiculous.
|
| |
This article wasn't written by staff bro
|
| |
also yes, the fact that it's not Tres annoys me to no end
|
| |
To think that I single-handledly caused the ethical collapse of Sputnik with a single news article....
I'm honored.
|
| |
"I may have just lost respect for this site. You should

Don't let one idiot ruin the Sputnik experience for
you.
|
| |
To be fair...
I never expected the mods to let this through....not that I'm complaining.
|
| |
leia didn't expect them to blow up alderaan either
think about it
|
| |
Yo bro...all I did was ruin a small online music community...
I don't think that compares to blowing up an entire planet.
|
| |
Are you belittling Sputnik?
|
| |
If they release something like Insomniac, Dookie which I hardly doubt it'll be good. Maybe something like Foxboro Hot Tubs, not a reboot of 21st Century Breakdown...
|
| |
And maybe they'll make a punkish album, an AI-like album and... and... three albums? Seriously?
This was one of the bands that introduced me to music, and I still have a hell of a soft spot for them, but I don't see how this could be good all the way through.
And seriously, who approved this article?
|
| |
^totally agree, even if they make each record different, they won't be able to stay away from the epic crap on their last album.
|
| |
Gotta give it a listen for nostalgia but here's hoping they release a fourth, a compilation containing the best of the three's tracks.
|
| |
This reminds me of the artistic futility of '70s progressive rock "dinosaur" bands which eventually led to their demise...
|
| |
Utterly pointless. A well made 40 minute record can outweigh three 'meh' ones.
|
| |
"I remember the first time i heard Green Day, my friend turned it on and i said "oh man, turn that shit off" and he did. The end."
I lol'ed
|
| |
i wish good bands would do this
|
| |
Let's see how this will turn out.
And the article is OBVIOUSLY the best ever!
|
| |
worst news ever.
in content and delivery.
|
| |
this is honestly the worst news article i've ever read.
|
| |
Objectively speaking you say? [2]
|
| |
This news, you say...
|
| |
are these guys serious? Uggggh this is going to be horrible.
|
| |
Don't like Green Day but the article makes you sound like a twat, which you probably are.
|
| |
The trilogy is going to be a very interesting experiment
|
| |
I smell a jumbled storyline and lacking epicness
|
| |
"We are going epic as fuck!"
fucking lol
|
| |
This seems awful. Just trying to distinguish themselves from the pack. And I hate all this pretentious bullshit behind their more recent albums...it is like they are trying to be a modern day Who or Pink Floyd, only without the musical talent/vision of those groups.
|
| |
^^ LOL totally is, considering how much Billie Joe dickrides The Who and that whole era it's not surprising
|
| |
news, now with 100% more unnecessary opinions [2]
|
| |
Punk band with aspirations...
My brain just exploded.
|
| |
Man everyone is negative here... I'm beyond excited for this, it takes a he'll of a lot of balls for a band to do this...
|
| |
"Man everyone is negative here... "
I honestly lost track of these guys after "Nimrod" but I'm not much of a pop-punk fan. I've been sick of hearing about them for 12 years. It's hard to get excited for a group that means little to nothing to you.
|
| |
Oh dear...they're turning into Guns'n'Roses...
|
| |
Title of article should be "Green Day Jump The Shark".
|
| |
Great article, it really seems they are so full of themselves.
|
| |
"Great article, it really seems they are so full of themselves."
Yeah...releasing three albums worth of music for their fans, what pricks!
|
| |
In this case, White Noise, I agree with jslavos. Judging by 21CB, this is setting itself up for inevitable disaster.
|
| |
A lot of people are on the fence with Green Day these days, and it seems they're putting everything on the line here. Either they're going to crash and burn or they're going to regain a lot of respect.
Either way, I do find this kind of exciting. I just hope they have enough good songs up their sleeve to pull this off.
Personally, I found 21st Century Breakdown to be pretty disappointing, but I really like what I've been hearing from the new leaked songs.
|
| |
“We are at the most prolific and creative time in our lives. This is the best music we’ve ever written, and the
songs just keep coming,” said the members of Green Day. “Instead of making one album, we are making a
three album trilogy. Every song has the power and energy that represents Green Day on all emotional levels.
We just can’t help ourselves… We are going epic as fuck!”
Are we sure Hawks isn't a member of Green Day? Because that read exactly like a Hawks comment.
|
| |
I'll give them a chance. But I haven't been a fan for a while..
|
| |
Here it is for anyone that wants to read an actual article and not another elitist attempt at humor:
http://music-mix.ew.com/2012/04/12/green-day-new-album-trilogy-uno-dos-tre/
|
| |
no
|
| |
This article is horrible. It's like a Fox News entry on sputnik. I don't care about the band. I don't care that they're releasing anything at all.
|
| |
Hardly surprising.
|
| |
"Objectively speaking, this may also be translated as "And we thought, why make one shitty album when we can make three even shittier ones!"
You might hate the band and their music, but your personal opinions should be written in the comments section , not in the article...
|
| |
Billie Joe Armstrong is going to read this post and be pissed!
|
| |
This is awesome news! This site is negative as shit. It's great that Green Day is doing more crazy stuff like this and I'm really really looking forward to this trilogy. For all you Green Day fans who hate on the new stuff, go listen to repetitive power chords. If you're not going to be optimistic, don't ruin it for the rest of us.
|
| |
Green Day really isn't that bad.
|
| |
You can't blame them when Green Day don't change that much. The new album is probably going to be a slightly different version of 21st Century Breakdown.
|
| |
"For all you Green Day fans who hate on the new stuff, go listen to repetitive power chords."
wat
|
| |
um i'm pretty sure they do. (please don't try to pull the sonic card)
the problem is that they aren't promising a return to form at all. it's basically going to be another bullshit (anti)rock anthem album where billy joe armstrong can't seem to get over that cold he's had for like 20 years.
|
| |
I think Robyn already did this...
|
| |
I wanted to like 21st, and it still fucking sucked.
|
| |
Haters have no business being here when you can't even spell the singer's name correctly haha!
|
| |
lolol XD ahaahHahha LOol ur so clevr
|
| |
21st Century Breakdown was shit admittedly, but American Idiot was great, regardless of the huge stylistic change.
|
| |
"And we thought, why make one shitty album when we
can make three even shittier ones!" i laughed a bit
|
| |
Wish the band would stop trying to make a masterpeice, or in this case, three, and go back to making fun music.
|
| |
No Thanks!!! Im staying away from this like the plague.
|
| |
when I first heard about this series of albums I thought it was a joke
|
| |
"¡Tré!"
LOL geddit it's like the drummer's name
ahahahahaha this is gonna suck
|
| |
^^^ oh I was about to say that it's spelled "Tres"
|
| |
It's almost like a play on words or something.
|
| |
^true but that arena rock feeling killed almost everything. most of the songs were designed to be huge and be sung by 20 000 people. however, Horseshoes & Handgrenades sounds cool, along with Peacemaker and Viva La Gloria (both of them, one for the energy and the other for coming close to Misery from Warning, though is not even close as good)
|
| |
I don't really like the title track, it's too epic. Still, Before The Lobotomy is nice as well as American Eulogy. It's nice to see Mike singing.
|
| |
lol
|
| |
this is such a bad idea.
|
| |
Simplistic pop punk band releases ambitious material in abundance > Sputnik collectively laughs
|
| |
God damn, I named my fucking EP Uno. Kicking myself now
|
| |
...
|
| |
whatever happened to non smart-ass news articles that were actually well written?
|
| |
Lol, this article is so true
|
| |
you will all be severely tested
|
| |
Sometimes, these guys make it really hard to stand up for them. But I still like Green Day. Like andcas said, everything besides 21st Century Breakdown has been pretty great. I'm still going to listen to these albums, but I have no idea what to expect, honestly.
|
| |
"This is awesome news! This site is negative as shit. It's great that Green Day is doing more crazy stuff like this and I'm really really looking forward to this trilogy. Fuck are you retarded.
|
| |
"Haters have no business being here when you can't even spell the singer's name correctly haha!"
I refuse to speak to anyone that uses the term haters seriously except to let them know they are not worthy of being spoken too.
|
| |
i really hope this good, but doubt it will be.
|
| |
Can't say I'm excited. :L
|
| |
green day is like lord of teh ringz!!
|
| |
lol can't wait to read the reviews for this
|
| |
Fuck this band
|
| |
"I refuse to speak to anyone that uses the term haters seriously except to let them know they are not worthy of being spoken too."
Oh man
|
| |
gun be 5
|
| |
"even when this band is at their worst they're still not that bad"
Finally somebody said it.
|
| |
21st Century Breakdown WASN'T produced by Rob Cavallo. Every thing else was, and guess what, Rob is
back. Also, Tre is the first name of the drummer. I honestly believe in Green Day right now, but you
never know.
Oh, and for those "disappointed" by this poorly constructed news article, what did you expect? The
"elite" users on sputnik are mostly arrogant and over confident assholes.
|
| |
I personally found that while 21CB was by far my least favorite green day album, it wasn't horrendous. I am looking forward to this regardless of how it turns out. I never got into them when they were coming up and yes I was one of the masses that got into them from AI but im not naive enough to know that they've changed as a band whether for better or for worse.
|
| |
people need to chill, green day has always had its fair share of good songs even in their worst albums like 21st century breakdown. If these arent good then im at least expecting a few good new green day songs so whatever. dont judge it until you listen to it
|
| |
I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension about the whole thing.
Green Day are a great band, though history tells us that they’ve released a few stinkers. 21st Century Breakdown was a let-down with all the stolen riffs and terrible lyrics backing it up, but this is one band that produces a few great tracks, even at their worst they aren’t ever that bad really. I’m just really hoping they drop this act that they've carried with them for the last seven to eight years now, it’s getting awfully boring. And anyway, grown ass men in their forties just should not have to wear that much make-up lol. I’m starting to wonder if it’s a personal choice or they are being bullied into it by shotgun elitist fans and their terrible, to be feared, rage.
|
| |
Even the Beatles couldn't write a double album of good songs. What makes these idiots think they can do a triple?
|
| |
Well, it's official: Green Day have vanished up their own asses.
Their last album was shitty for the most part, this is just going to be horrible
|
| |
Yes, 21st century breakdown was mediocre, but what makes you so sure their new material will suck? Some of the new songs have been on youtube forever and they sound like Dookie mixed with Foxboro Hot Tubs
|
| |
I remember you saying "this band at it's worse is still not bad" andcas
|
| |
I'm pretty fucking excited...
|
| |
Green Day are dead.
|
| |
