Awesome

This is lolbad.
| |
It's pretty mediocre, except for the solo. Here's hoping it's not on their new album, and that the rest of the songs are actually better.
| |
that's a catchy mothafucka
| |
You know you are gonna get a shitty track when they tease you with a stupid 10 sec riff.
| |
It's hard to believe it's Soundgarden, so in that regard, people will shit on it.
I, however, think it's pretty catchy.
| |
sounds pretty decent the first time.. might grow on me..
| |
bit of a snooze
| |
I wish these bands would just be content with touring and playing their classic stuff that everyon likes. No need to water down your discography by releasing crappy new half assed albums and stuff.
| |
Wasn't good or bad. Pretty "meh"

inb4 Irving

Love the riff and the chorus but the verses sound a bit average.
PoodleRapist
I see an electric retard avatar you have there, I used to work on that site and own the Lolokaust. Amazing to see some of that stuff still floating around the web.
| |
I can dig it
| |
I really like this song actually. More on the alternative side than the hard rock or grunge side. Kind of interesting. Looking forward to the new album!
| |
meh
| |
chorus was too soft for my liking -.-
| |
Too many commas.
As for the song, fuck that. I'm not wasting my time.
| |
The song is excellent. If this came out two years after Down on the Upside, it probably would have fit right in. They did a perfect job of slightly updating their sound without losing any of their identity. Cornell sounds great as usual and Thayil's guitar playing is still very distinctive. Considering that this was written specifically for the soundtrack, I'm sure the album will be fantastic.
| |
lol haters
| |
Not too bad. I just hope that their album is better than this. This was pretty much Revelations era Audioslave but Kim Thayil on guitar to give it that Psychedelic sound/feel. They need to put more balls in their music, bit I doubt they will. We're probably gonna be left with 10 or so watered down "Burden In My Hand"s on the new album. God I hope they don't fuck it up. What will be better, New Soundgarden or "Oceania"? I have faith in both bands. As for the single, I'd give it a 3/5. They can do so much better. Nice to see Chris still has it.
| |
Soundgarden should do better than this, though it's not awful by any stretch of the imagination. Good thing I'm more of a Pearl Jam fan.
| |
According to this source: http://grungereport.net/?p=11217, they wrote this song after they finished writing the album, because none of the tracks from there seemed to fit with the movie. So there's hope left.
| |
Chris Cornell is so horrible, I was afraid this would happen. Pretty much no hope for the album, in all honesty. Not a complete disaster but man that was mediocre...I would honestly have much more trust in this band if Cornell was out, he has become more of a pop singer songwriter dude (and a bland one at that) than a legit grunge icon....Bright side? If the album is as bad as this single, Matt Cameron will never have to worry about scheduling conflicts again because there is no way people will pay to hear these songs.

Much hope since this track isn't really all that bad.
| |
Brb gonna listen hard.
| |
Pretty good and I only really liked their heavier songs from "Badmotorfinger" and that's it
| |
less heavy than i expected
| |
there are some pretty lolbad bands on that soundtrack.
solo was pretty cool though
| |
Yeah a lot of bad bands on this soundtrack.
| |
it sounds more like Cornell's solo stuff, but either way I like it
| |
Solid. Nothing to write home about tbh, but prolly deserves a high 3.
Can't wait for that new album of theirs.
| |
Too audioslave, not enough Soundgarden.
| |
Fuck! they teased me so hard with that sweat opening riff... verses were kinda meh and sounded like a cornell song. Solo was bitchin though m/.
As of now I'm torn about it :P.

Maninthebox
It's not the nineties anymore
| |
wait what?!?1?!? Grunge isn't kewl anymore?? :O?
| |
I like this .
| |
This is okay, nothing wrong with it. It's entirely forgettable though.
| |
Track wasn't horrible, but lacked any oomph or dynamic. It felt like it was building, then the first chorus came in and we didn't really get bigger or go anywhere, it was kind of an anti-climax.
| |
Its kinda depressing how much Chris Cornell's range has decreased. Thats what you get when you have a massive voice and a lack of healthy technique.
| |
meh... the opening riff is so good yet the song itself is pretty forgettable. still, im looking forwad to this album.
| |
it's alright. it's a lot softer than I expected
| |
Lol. I mean, their most recent album was their softest album. That was over 15 years ago. Why would you reasonably expect anything they do now to be much heavier than this?
| |
^^ yep
| |
I didn't expect heavy, myself. All I'm asking for are dynamics.
| |
His voice is much better now than in the Audioslave era. He doesn't have that strong falsetto anymore, which he had in the 90s, but considering the tons of screams and high registers he had been using all those years, this is pretty impressive shit. Check his live performances of Beyond the Wheel in 2011, and you'll see he's still got some of that voice left.
| |
His voice was the best it has ever been in Audioslave.
| |
^You need to check live versions of badmotorfinger songs from 92. They take a dump from an airplane on Audioslave performances.
