Holy shit I'm about to go running but I need this. Penderecki is a genius and all of Greenwood's compositions are amazing. I still listen to the There Will Be Blood OST all the time.

yeah, there will be blood OST is so good. checking this now

Penderecki's pieces are usually unnerving as fuqq so I think they'll compliment each other nicely.
|
| |
if i were to get an album (if thats what you call classical stuff, im not real versed on it, compositions maybe idk) by Penderecki which would i get?
|

The big "beginning collection" of Penderecki songs is Orchestral Works Vol. 1. In terms of pieces, I'd
recommend Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima first. (which is on that album)

sweet thanks

Thank you. Listening to the Popcorn piece (after the Threnody one) and they are both soooooo good. Makes me want to see a classical concert. With a dark symphony orchestra that has me listening like a child, open and full of wonder, fear, curiosity. Although actually, I think these songs will suffice quite well for now.

"...that has me listening like a child, open and full of wonder, fear, curiosity." me at every Nickelback show.
|
| |
Not THAT kind of fear or wonder
Nor morbid curiosity

By the way, my all time favorite thing in the world of Penderecki is seeing Anne Sophie Mutter play his concierto para violin no. 2... start here, it's amazing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux7iwDrkjc4&feature=related

Can't wait. Penderecki is one of my absolute favorite composers. Also to Tarkus, check out the album Matrix 5.
