Mastodon and Opeth have confirmed performance dates for their "Heritage Hunter" U.S. tour.
The bands will tour as co-headliners and take turns being the closing act. Ghost will open
as the supporting band.
Mastodon released a statement saying, “We’re excited to co-headline this tour with Opeth
for whom we have great respect and admiration. Having Ghost along, as well, will make this
tour a special event.”
Opeth frontman, Mikael Åkerfeldt, commented on the tour. “Yet, am I right in thinking that
this tour, this line up, is pretty decent? Would you all agree? Not complete s-, is it?
Hope to see y’all out there! What are we playing? Not sure yet, but considering the
company, maybe we’ll have to pull out the big guns from time to time. In order to keep up,
I mean.”
Tickets go on sale February 3.

I love Opeth, and the fact that they aren't playing in the Palladium again is awesome. But I never really had any interest in seeing them live.

honestly mastodon were so good when i saw them in november. one of the best sounding metal shows i have seen. they've stepped it up over past live performances quality wise bigtime. and i don't think beer had anything to do with my feelings on the show...not a big opeth fan tho. prolly pass on this one.

I Went to the MI concert. Mastodon basically only played songs from the Hunter, and opeth mostly played songs from Heritage and Warershed (not heavy.) Concert could have been better if they varied their setlist a bit more, but it was still epic.

Going to the calgary show for sure now. I hope opeth is at least bearable live since I'm bringing along a friend that hates them.
