Haven't liked anything he's done since With Teeth so we'll see...
| |
hasn't been good in years
| |
Was worried that "hinting at" might not count as news, glad to see that it did. I want him to rail on the world issues, bring angry Trent back.
| |
as long as there's a live band in the studio, apposed to him writing yet another album on his laptop, then it's gonna be awesome. i'm not holding my breath, mind.
| |
Saw NIN on their farewell tour, doubt he'll ever write anything that can hold a candle to the Downward Spiral or the Fragile but Year Zero and the Slip were great.
| |
Yeah, I'm quite partial to all his stuff, so this should be good.
| |
Yes! Not a big fan of The Slip, but I love everything else he's done.
| |
his whole existence is flawed
| |
Great, now I'll have a full on erection til it comes out...
| |
He needs to become dangerously depressed again.
| |
He needs to release a Broken but political.
| |
You people are crazy, Year Zero is the best thing he did since the Downward Spiral. The Slip was okay-ish. He's still got it in him.
| |
Sorry bud but the Fragile shits on Year Zero.
| |
I'm super excited for this, but truth be told I totally bend over for Trent Reznor, so I'm bias.
| |
He'll do something awesome, no doubt.
| |
I'm totally keen for this. It's awesome that he can just do whatever he wants to musically and not have to worry about money or touring. I can understand his decision to quit touring, it's a pretty tasking thing to do constantly, especially for a 40-something year old. Definitely keen for more NIN
| |
If his soundtracks indicate anything he still has some great musical ideas floating around
| |
Cool.
| |
Id love to see him blend his ambient side and rock side more, instead of having so many overly-ambient songs and overly repetitious rock songs ehd sound more like he did on the fragile..and thats the best album EVER
| |
I love MOST things he's done. Good is good, doesn't matter if an artist only has one or two "masterpieces" as long as they make quality music you enjoy and love.
Therefor... Very happy to hear this.
| |
Sounds a little closer to a 2013 release. I hope he gets a little more aggressive for his next run
through. Either way I'll get it but until then will wait patiently (or not so patiently) for it's
release. ;^)
| |
Hopefully it will be better than The Slip which I thought was pretty disappointing.
| |
Yah, not horrible but definitely not a stellar release IMO.
| |
i really like ghosts and the social network soundtrack. hopefully this will be as good.
| |
Yah I did too Thane.
| |
Meh, not really excited.
| |
Looking forward to this. While I thought The Slip was Good, not great, I thought Ghosts was a great instrumental piece. Honestly, I think it'd be kind of silly for him, at this point, to return to making purely angry tracks like the one in Broken or over-produced industrial pieces where he mentions decay a thousand times.
| |
^ Yep.
I mean, it's one thing for stringy 25 year old Trent to be raging with hate, but it would just seem disingenuous for a happily-married 46 year old Trent to go back to doing that just to appease his fans of older work.
| |
True, but if he just continues with the lower key elements in his work I honestly will feel a bit let down - I like bands to age/die with a bang.
| |
Liked Year Zero AND The Slip. This is excellent news.
| |
No idea why the slip got so much hate, I feel like as a cohesive album that it may not have been the most consistent work as far as feel goes, but it felt like a sampler of everything NIN has to offer, and in that it succeeded. I personally think it kicks ass, but again, Trent fanboy, I'm pretty bias.

This is enough to get my hopes up.
