Free TesseracT song

TesseracT have made their song "Eden 2.0" available for free download. The band re-recorded their track "Eden" after a change in vocalists, which saw Dan Tompkins leave and Elliot Coleman come in, and are now giving the new version away for free as a token of appreciation for the fans.

The band also went out and shot a video for the song, which can be viewed here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4h0rlWX5lM

At this rate they'll be re-recording all their songs again and again. Album version is better.

Only recently got into this band, really like the new version.

Can't say i like the new cut at all. New part at 1:53 doesn't fit, the bass lost its bite, and the vocals are very muddled (think it's more of a mixing problem in some parts).

Really like the video, but gotta agree with Gunlach that the mixing seems muddy in some places. Other than that though, still a great song.

Apparently my best friend is friends with the new singer. I live in Maryland so however the singer was able to join up with these guys just boggles me. I'll have to listen to them more.

Shitty, awkward mix. Looking forward to actual fresh material with Elliott, the man can singgg.

New singer blows. Usually I am very open minded when it comes to this stuff, but I am VERY disappointed with Elliot. His tone does NOT fit TesseracT's music at all. He has the range but not the crooning voice that the last vocalist had....extremely sad about this. Thanks a lot for suggesting this guy Misha Mansoor! Your officially a prick...

Elliot isn't bad, but I liked Dan a lot more.

Original Eden > this.

Dan was pretty cool live, too.

Bare in mind the song was written with Dan in mind, obviously it's gonna sound a touch awkward when someone else sings it.

If they release some songs that are written with the new guy in mind in sure it will sound better. I still prefer Dan. His voice
was very ethernal and fit the band perfectly.

abi > dan > elliot

also i think the fact that it sounds badly mixed is the fact that it will have been compressed to mp3 at least twice before we hear it (once by century and once by SC's player) therefore a lot of mix detail is lost/weakened

Dan was a lot better fit for the band. I like the album version of the song more anyways.

I actually don't mind his voice. I just think the mixing was rushed and totally a shit job, making him sound out of place more than he actually is.

You know, I loved dan. Seriously a perfect fit for the band. But elliot just seems real awkward. Should've seen them live with dan while I had the chance.

Never did I think I would want Dan back so badly! I didn't used to think Dan was amazing or anything, I thought he got the job done. However, last night I saw them with Elliot and my god he is horrendous. I saw them live with Dan a number of months ago and it was orders of magnitude better.

Elliot can not even begin to perform the parts. He cannot sing for shite, and his growls are very amateur and one-dimensional. He had to switch to a weak falsetto for anything that was even remotely high (that Dan would belt out), and he can't yell/scream/growl in the various ways that Dan could.

Also, this Elliot guy is very awkward and has no stage presence. He completely killed the vibe of the set and did not look like he belonged. It was an embarrassingly sad and disappointing performance. At one point I said aloud "This new guy ****ing sucks", which elicited at least a dozen agreeable responses from other frustrated listeners around me.

I am convinced that Elliot was just the best option since they needed to grab some guy for the upcoming tour. They had better actually try to find a good vocalist, because this guy is awful and it literally seems like they picked him up off the street.

Dan Tompkins had a perfectly fitting voice for this band, it's very disappointing that he left. However, despite the fact that he left, I was expecting a lot from this version of the song, because... well... this is TesseracT. However, upon hearing Elliot's vocals, and the dreadful mixing, I was devastated and I couldn't bear to hear it (I also just don't like Elliot's vocal work, he has that unpleasant pitch bend when he annunciates some of his vowels... [but he can really hit a high note]).
But then I found Skyharbor (which is a fantastic Djent band from India), who now works with Dan (DAN FUCKING TOMPKINS!!!!!)... So I suppose I'm satisfied that Dan is working with a good band, but... TesseracT will probably never be as good as the were before Dan left.

Rest in peace, the future TesseracT,
you will always have some of my favorite softcore Djent tracks.

(CHECK OUT SKYHARBOR)

wtf itchy. Sorry that Elliot can't be perfect on material he didn't write, right off the bat. It's foolish to not allow someone to come into their own, and I'm pretty sure that Elliot hasn't been a vocalist for live performances before TesseracT AFAIK. Also, Elliot just has a different approach than Dan (Dan holding out long notes with little to no vibrato, and Elliot with an improv style that uses a good amount of vibrato).
