As much as I want to play along with all the viking arse-kickery, I reached maximal Amon Amarth fatigue with the release of Twilight Of The Thunder God. Albums like Versus The World and With Odin On Our Side still managed a level of novelty, creativity and catchiness amidst the unfaltering Amon Amarth theme and sound. This song, much like TotTG, can be described as "fun" and "consistent"; but it's a serious problem when I know where the riffs are going and what everything will sound like as I listen for the very first time.

We are just fooling ourselves by not admitting that those songs are uninspiring regurgitations of the material that made us think they kicked so much ass in the first place. Okay, done hatin' now I'm gonna get my viking on with some some Thousand Years of Oppression!

you dont understand. yes, their music has been the same thing over and over on each album. but they came up with their own riffs. every riff on here i could literally go and find the exact same thing on multiple other records. it just sounds like they didnt even try to write a riff that hadn't been done before.

Wrong. Only retarded people with no cred do that. Every good music critic has at least a tad of know-how. Also, no matter how one might not like this band. They're good at songwriting and put on a live-presence many bands could dream of.
