Sepultura Reunion Next Year?

2006-10-20 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 8 Comments
In an interview with Cameron Edney, Max Cavalera talked about his recent reunion with brother Igor and hinted that the pair could return to Sepultura next year.

Max left the Brazilian thrash band in 1996 after the band decided to fire their manager and his wife, Gloria. He and Igor didn't speak for ten years, and Igor subsequently left the band earlier this year. Recently the pair reunited and played together at an event in tribute to Max's lates stepson Dana.

When asked about the possibility of the brothers reuniting under the Soulfly or Sepultura banners, the guitarist answered, "Well, at the moment I am touring with Soulfly and I want to make it very clear that I love Soulfly. Sepultura and Soulfly are two different things. People don't have to be worried. I'm not going to stop Soulfly [laughs] even if I do a reunion with Sepultura it's two different things. My thing with Soulfly is on a day to day basis. Every day I am working to make Soulfly better. If the reunion happens, and I think it will happen, then it will be a great thing for me and the fans. I can't speak for Igor but it looks like next year will be a good year for heavy music."

Igor claimed after his departure that the Sepultura name would be retired at the conclusion of their current tour, however bassist Paulo Jr. has denied this.

Rizzo is in Soulfly..

and I'd wish that Sepultura would get back together with Igor, Max and Andreas and do a world tour. That'd be one of the greatest things to see ever.
