New Underoath Song

2010-07-13 by fromtheinside | 139 Comments
Mind Equals Blown have captured the first performance of Underoath performing without drummer and clean vocalist Aaron Gillepsie (the last original member) during the Cool Tour. The song is reported as being the band's heaviest to date with death metal influences featuring blast beats and chaotic guitar riffs.

"Tim and Spencer have taken over the job of the clean vocals, once held by Aaron, and they do a pretty good job at it. Obviously no one will be able to match Aarons signature voice which helped make Underoath who they are today, but Tim and Spence do a good job of filling his absent shoes. Stand in drummer Daniel Davidson was also spectacular. Even with as many technical problems the band ran into, they were great live."

A clip of the song, which is currently untitled, can be heard at the link below.

Yeah eternium, I was at the show tonight too and completely agree with you. It was definitely very heavy, but not death metal. I thought the band did great without Aaron, but I have to admit that Tim can't really cover the clean vox that well. I mean he get's the job done, but the crowd makes up for the rest. Plus, Dan did a great job on the drums. Stoked for the CD, considering it'll be a lot like the unveiled song!

i've seen underoath twice, they weren't preachy either time.. all spencer said was to believe what YOU want, and not what others tell you. opposite of preachy, am i right? and i was supposed to go to this show, but the ticket prices when i looked on the tabernacle's site were like 70 dollars.. and fuck that, even if BTBAM was there..

yeah all spencer said about his faith was that it's helped him a lot in life and brought good things to the band. He said he doesnt want to force things on anyone and that he hopes everyone can find their own happiness, whatever it may be.
