I guess Phil is tired of drumming. It's a nice song, nothing more or less, but it would be cool if Radiohead's new album had some similar moments.

Who would have known he was such a good singer.

At least I think he is singing. Either way, I'm loving this.

" I guess Phil is tired of drumming."

For Radiohead I wouldn't be surprised :-)

Agreed

"this is that band from the Twilight disc from last year correct?"
I hope you're trolling but too many people I know would say this so I can't be sure.

Radiohead songs are always better once you can put them in their place in relativity to the album, but this song is nonetheless pretty damn good.

Please be honest with yourselves people. Wasn't Phil Collins an insanely badass drummer? Yes he was... A good songwriter? A little more debatable. Phil Selway though?

This would be a near outrage if it surfaced on a Radiohead record and y'all know it!

"This would be a near outrage if it surfaced on a Radiohead record and y'all know it!"

While this is very true, Phil Selway is NOT Radiohead. The expectations for the album/song (at least for me) are vastly different. So, while it's perfectly okay to label the song as "meh" or mediocre, it just can't be compared to Radiohead... and I actually am pleasantly surprised by the tune.

Hahaha somebody else who created an account for this thread.. To me it just seems like if you're expectations are different then it simply means the quality of the artist is also already different (to you anyways).. Meh, I also think that if I wrote this song people wouldn't be that much into it.

i can see this album being really solid...that song and album cover set a really devilish tone for me.

it's definitely a decent track. the ebow is a nice touch. it's ironic how light on the percussion it is.

is it just a 4 minute drum solo or what?

Better than expected no offense to Phil but he's the Ringo of Radiohead. He doesn't write songs, he does sing on "There There" but that's all that comes to mind. So this was a nice surprise. However if this was on the new album I would be making electioneering comments, though I do have completely unfair and absolutely unrealistic expectations for the new album.

So I've pretty much been addicted to this for a while now, good fun that.
