Supernova vs. Supernova 2006-09-13 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 11 Comments | Rock band Supernova- the brain child of CBS Broadcasting and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee- will have to find a new name after a judge ruled in favour of punk band... Supernova.
MTV.com reports that the California pop punk trio, who were briefly famous after recording the track 'Chewbacca' for the first Clerks movie, filed an injuction against CBS and the reality TV show stars from touring, recording or promoting themselves under the Supernova moniker.
Lee's band, which also features Starfuckers guitarist Gilby Clarke and ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted, is due to release their debut Butch Walker-produced album November 12 and launch a tour early next year. The band will reveal their choice for lead singer tonight [Wednesday, 13].
The slighted Supernova are also seeking punitive damages for the monetary loss that will surely result from all the free publicity.

I can't beileve Jason Newsted is in Supernova. Supernova is going to suck.

I don't think they'll suck the one song is catchy "There's a really fine line between whats yours and whats mine...I don't have a place to gooo" that parts catchy. But they sound like they'll be another radio rock band...only slightly better than the rest.
