Finally, I have been waiting for this for a long time.
| |
I already beat you to it.
| |
Already???
| |
"Finally, I have been waiting for this for a long time."
really? it can't be that long. they just released the Satanic Satanist.
| |
The song they took out last week was really weak so i'll doubt ill listen to this.
| |
really? it can't be that long. they just released the Satanic Satanist.
It is because I am such a huge fan of their music and live shows. It just seems like a long time because with their previous albums, they leaked pretty early and I didn't have to wait for release day.
| |
3-3.5 right now.
| |
It's left over ideas and tracks from The Satanic Satanist. They are incredible live, definitely.
| |
I'm really digging this.
| |
I saw them live and the best part was the girl playing the keyboard. She was hot and I wanted to do her.
| |
sweet. the last 3 ptm releases have been hit or miss for me so i'll see how this goes...
| |
so far its pretty average, i did liked 60 years alot though, not a bad album but yeah a bit meh
| |
It seems like they put zero thought into the order of the tracklisting which is pissing me off.
| |
love it.

"All My People" is fun. This is pretty good, IMO. It sounds a lot like the Satanic Satanist, which is a little surprising, because Portugal almost never settles on one sound from album to album.
| |
Cause they're Satanist b-sides.
| |
Exactly, why can't anyone understand that this is like a Satanic extension?
| |
It just seemed like an uncharacteristic move for them, though that explains why this is coming out so soon.
| |
the songs dont sound to much like satanic songs, regardless if this is a b-side album or not, i dont care, its great.
| |
It's like Satanist mixed with It's Complicated.
| |
Sometimes I think I like this band, then I realize I don't.
They had a few good songs but I always feel like I have to try to like most of their stuff. Were pretty good live though, although I got bored in the middle of their set. I feel like if I liked them more it would have been real kickass.
| |
kind of reminds me of a happier, way more well-structured complicated with 10x more vocals. the last song is too dancy.
| |
Awesome, can't wait to listen. I really like The Dead Dog.
| |
Dead Dog is soooooo good.
| |
I've been a huge P.TM fan since Under Waves of the Brown Coat but I will admit that a few songs on here are rather dull. Overall, I really enjoy it but not as good as Satanist imo. And once again, they really do put on an amazing show for those of you who may have the opportunity to see them. Huge jam sesh.
| |
only heard 3 songs, but loved them. as expected.
| |
Sooooo picking this up after class today. :D
| |
i'm diggin it
| |
Pretty pumped to listen to this
| |
i like.
| |
its aight.
| |
Yeah I bought it too and regret that I did.
| |
Just listened to it; it was bad, really bad. Worse than Satanist, which was also bad.
PtM has to go back to making tribute albums to the Beatles. And cut the electronica, it doesnt suit John's voice...rather, it makes his voice sound like Barry Gibb's.
| |
I've listened through the album about 7 times after buying the cd/digital/shirt bundle and have to say
it's a LOT different than Satanist. Anyone saying these are Satanist b-sides obviously didn't listen
more than 1 time through (if even). Ghetto is much more atmospheric, moody, and dark (vaguely
reminiscent of Wizard). Satanist was essentially catchy pop. This is just another progression in their
eclectic catalog of albums.
| |
Oh, and by the way--everyone looking for physical copies: they aren't available. You can only pre-order them at www.portugaltheman/ghetto. Digital only for now.
| |
Pretty awesome how fast this came out. If I wasn't on my iPod I'd get it now
| |
stop complaining if you don't like it. All it is is just a quick/fun/electric/beat-based record that John threw together rather quickly for fans. If you don't like it, I'm sure they will release another drastically different album in another 7 months or so (and tour extensively). that's what makes P.TM so great. In fact, I'm pretty sure they already tweeted that the next record is already being worked on.
