Disband
|
| |
YES!!! best news ive heard in a long time! cant stand this band, hope they call it quits
|
| |
33 is a little young to set a limit, no?
|
| |
fuck haters
|
| |
Cue half the people here saying "oh please let them break up/disband"
I say keep going till age 40!
|
| |
I don't care for them that much but my friends who (generally) like terrible music will be sad over this and that will make me happy.
|
| |
The guys of Iron Maiden are all in their 60's and still make incredible music. It's about a lifetime passion.
|
| |
DUDE IF THEY DIBPAND THAT WOULD BE SO F'ING AWESOME!!!!!!
|
| |
fuck you all, Viva La Vida is a god album, i don't see why they're breaking up, 33 is not a proper age to retire.
|
| |
lol 33?
more like "we've made enough money now, so long suckers!"
|
| |
The guy who posted this would be terrible at Wheel of Fortune. This Message Edited On 11.19.08

ooops...
|
| |
hurricane's right, where's the passion?
|
| |
where do they come up with this odd number of 33...pulling that number up his as$
|
| |
This bands terrible, would be good to see them go.
I also agree with Hurricane, tons of bands are out there to rock till they keel over, this band obviously doesnt have that mindset.
|
| |
good news
|
| |
Dispand? Descent? What the fuck is this lingo?
|
| |
"I’m 31 now and I don’t think that bands should keep going past 33."
More like "I'm just gonna make up some random thing to have an excuse to break up"
*chuckles at people freaking out about the spelling mistake*
|
| |
they don't want to play when they're old and washed up they must hate music
|
| |
33? messiah complex!
|
| |
I kind of agree with him that rock bands shouldn't keep going after a certain age. It just gets lame. Not that I cared about their last album so it won't really affect me anyway.
|
| |
disband
martin should shut up he doesnt know what he's talking about
|
| |
Oh man this would be awesome, one less radiohead ripoff plagueing the radio
|
| |
i dont think age really matters, i think musicians should quit when theyre past there prime (musically), i think thats what he fears. maybe
idk
|
| |
finally, i hate these twits.
they sound like two cats in heat while sitting inside of a steaming bowl of beef stew.
damn, that actually sounds good right now.
|
| |
it bothers me when people say a band should quit cause they suck or they are too old. Like AC/DC, I've heard many people say they should quit around here, but you know how many concerts of theirs are sold out? All of them. People still want to see them..... many many people. Also they obviously still enjoy themselves. Just because you're 33 years old it doesn't mean you quit being in a band. I bet Coldplay keep going when they realize they won't make as much moneyThis Message Edited On 11.20.08

| |
please DON'T break up, because in 3 years they'll come back and their songs will only be more annoying.
|
| |
well if they want to so be it.
Though honestly its a bit sad.
|
| |
Though honestly its a bit sad.
Agreed. For the first time, they capture and keep my attention with an album, and then they're debating whether to break up? What's up with that?
And there a lot of popular bands that stay up well beyond their 30's making awesome music. Heck, some bands don't START making awesome music until their 30's...This Message Edited On 11.20.08

In what way is this sad and not glorious? Viva la Vida has been overrated like hell because it isn't as boring as their previous releases. There are still a million better alternatives. This Message Edited On 11.20.08

YES! It's about time this shitty band went away forever... leaving the space for Oasis to claim back their place in British music that Coldplay stole from them
|
| |
A part of me wishes this news was about Nickelback instead...
|
| |
Maiden aren't in their 60s. Just their 50s.

"Viva La Vida" is an awesome album when compared to other band's music. It's fun, it's catchy, it goes through a wide range of emotions, and the musicianship on it is rather good. It had flow, it had coherency, and there were moments that really just made me stop and listen. None of the other albums by them that I've heard had all of that, and it's sad to me that when Coldplay finally becomes interesting, they decide to break up.
I agree with Pigmi: I'd be much happier if this were Nickelback or Seether or Stain'd or Theory of a Deadman or Three Doors Down.
Or Converge. I really can't stand Converge ( < ---- it's true, but I said it to emphasize a point).This Message Edited On 11.20.08

Disband. Probably won't happen, but here's hoping.
|
| |
Disband is not as bad as most people would have you believe.
|
| |
YES! It's about time this shitty band went away forever... leaving the space for Oasis to claim back their place in British music that Coldplay stole from them
Are you actually kidding me on? if any band should break up, it's Oasis so that I don't have to be subjected to their recycled crap that they call "new" albums. Oasis were barely relative at the time, never mind now.
I really hope they don't break up, Viva was woeful, but I quite like everything else
|
| |
We still have Radiohead.
|
| |
fuck you all
so, they actually make a good album, then decide to break up. kinda sucks
|
| |
whoops.This Message Edited On 11.20.08
|
| |
their last album was the only one i had gotten into.
so...this sorta sucks i guess.
|
| |
Praise God
|
| |
This is pretty good news for me. They've released way too much of the same material over the years.
My friend Jack thinks Coldplay are the best band in the world. He also pretends to be manically depressed over msn and then is the happiest, cockiest person in the world when you meet him...
I think every Coldplay CD should have a warning label on the back:
"DO NOT LISTEN TO FOR LONG THAN 10 MINS!!! Listening for over 10 mins may cause suicide!"This Message Edited On 11.20.08

FucK! The only good album they release was Viva La Vida, and they gonna break up?! At 33? ACDC is 100 years old or something and still kicking. Its like Chris just had a mid-life crisis lol.
|
| |
It seems people have failed to realise that the bands that are actually still going at age 50/60 are generally shit now... Going out with a pathetic whimper and an extra few million in the pocket... Yeah... That's dignified...
So people shouldn't criticise Coldplay for "Having so much money that they can't be fucked to continue"
I wish people would stop comparing them to Radiohead too... I know it's an old argument and I should shut up, but really, are there any Radiohead songs that sound like "Life In Technicolor"? Stop basing all your musical likes and dislikes on what's cool and uncool to listen to... I know you haters have a secret Coldplay song you love
So, no, disbanding wouldn't be a good move
|
| |
^ Yes, there are quite a few Radiohead songs that sound like Life In Technicolor. In fact, Viva La Vida was probably the most Radiohead-like album yet to be completely honest (which is obviously why it's the best).
|
| |
I really don't understand how everyone can bash this band.
Like sure, Chris Martin has ego issues, and personally i found X&Y a tad bit over the top. But still all their songs are incredibly amazing. Like wow people...lol.
People will have their opinions but i dont understand the deep hatred for coldplay music: like it's not that bad. This Message Edited On 11.20.08
|
| |
Not all that many people think it's awful, just really really average and samey. Yours truly's a perfect example of that
|
| |
If they broke up, Chris would probably start a solo career as he the reason the majority of fans listen to them for his voice.
Coldplay arn't that depressing, they're quite a good band, nothing original though. They're like 3rd or 4th wave at doing what they're doing, so they seem diluted compared to artists that were doing it before them.
also.. 33 isn't too old to keep playing the type of music they do. they should evolve rather than split up, tbh. This Message Edited On 11.20.08

I like all of Coldplay's albums. they grate on me after a while but I hope these guys keep it up
|
| |
33 is not the proper age to retire.
These dudes are dumb.
They WOULD anounce retirment after their first good album.
I'm not gonna miss 'em.
|
| |
lets hope they continue with more music like viva
|
| |
Please disband and take Oasis, Keane, Snow Patrol, Razorlight and the Ting Tings with you!! That would be a great day for music lovers everywhere! lol
But this guy will not step out the limelight, his ego is too big, i can see him being the next Bono or Bob 'fucking' Geldof, god forbid!!!! :O!!!! OMG, They already both have fruit named kids! Coincidence, i think not!!!
|
| |
good news! I cant stand the self-pitiness in their songs.
|
| |
To be honest, its a pretty clever ploy. They'll all probably form other bands afterwards, just they've felt Coldplay can't get much bigger than it already is, so its best to set it rest before its starts to fall off its perch.
|
| |
This A-Hole is retiring at 33 and I am supposed to feel guilty about illegally downloading music?
|
| |
Good riddance
|
| |
This would not make me sad.
|
| |
They're probably doing it so they can have a reniunian album the year after, but shit I'm down as long as they keep there deppressing moans behind closed doors from now on
|
| |
I actually don't mind Coldplay at all, even though they are Radiohead rip-offs, I think quite a lot of you are just saying you hate them because you're embarassed to be even indifferent to them ;-)
As someone who mostly listens to heavy / progressive bands they're quite nice to listen to when you're in a relaxed mood
Although I still hope they split up...
|
| |
awful band is awful.
Nuff said.
