New LP For Clutch 2026-09-28 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 0 Comments | Clutch have announced their fourteenth studio album, Wasted Lands, due January 22, 2027 through their own Weathermaker Music label.
The follow-up to 2022's Sunrise on Slaughter Beach was written and recorded at the band's Doom Saloon headquarters in Frederick, Maryland. It reunites the quartet with producer Gene "Machine" Freeman for their first album together since 2015's Psychic Warfare.
The announcement comes with the title track and its official video, following August's The Drifter Returns. According to Neil Fallon, the new song was inspired by someone blaming him on Facebook after falling victim to an impersonation scam. He turned the incident into a fictional monster story, naming its fearsome creature after himself.
The band approached the album with live performances in mind, abandoning earlier experimental material in favor of more direct, energetic songs. It also introduces banjo to a Clutch record for the first time on Beware the Fever.
