Manes Return to the Flames 2026-10-05 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 2 Comments | Manes have announced their sixth studio album, To Burn Is to Shine, due November 27 through Avantgarde Music.
The seven-track record follows 2018's Slow Motion Death Sequence. Its first single, Stones in Your Pockets (Nearly Swimming), is available now and can be heard below.
According to the label, the album explores psychological collapse, personal struggles and social decay, with recurring images of fire connecting its songs. Musically, it develops the Norwegian band's combination of metal, dark electronics, alternative rock and trip-hop.
Guests include Ana Carolina Skaret of Mourning Sun, Eskil Blix of Djevel and Vemod, Marita Hellem of Enevelde, and Drontheim members Rune Folgerø and Tom Christian Engelsøy. Whoredom Rife drummer Vegar Larsen performs on two tracks, while Michael Houtz created the artwork.
The tracklist is:
1. A Heart Poisoned by Hope
2. Healing Flames
3. Stones in Your Pockets (Nearly Swimming)
4. Ending the Bloodline
5. Dira Necessitas (Blank Medal)
6. The Firebrand
7. All That Burns with Me Is Mine
