Low Roar Final Album 2024-10-28 by Brad | 13 Comments | Low Roar's sixth album has been completed posthumously following the untimely death of front man and driving force Ryan Karazija. Ryan passed away on October 29, 2022 at the age of 40. He had been working on what would be Low Roar's sixth album and had already finished recording all of his parts.
Low Roar producer and close friend of Ryan, Andrew Scheps, has been working on completing Ryan's work over the past 2 years and announced that the first single "Field of Dreams" will be out December 6th, second single on January 3rd and the full album on February 7th 2025. Alongside this announcement, Ryan shared that the record is "uplifting, heart breaking, beautiful, intimate, and everything else Low Roar has always been."
Just over a year and a half back in an Instagram post, Andrew Scheps shared this about the final album: "As to the final album, Ryan had already finished recording all of his parts (If he hadn’t there would be no album to finish) and Mike has done all of the amazing things that Mike does. I was getting ready to start my work on the record when Ryan got sick, and since he died I have only been able to listen through to the tracks twice. As soon as I can bear it I will finish it, as I have done with Low Roar for the last 12 years. There is no time frame as of yet, and really no reason to set one. Most importantly, I love and miss Ryan every day, he was one of the best friends I’ve ever had."

RIP. Very excited to hear this.
| | | This is going to be rough... Low Roar produced some of the best albums of the last decade, and his death hit me harder than anyones in recent memory. At least we get one more LP
| | | I had completely missed the sad news, RIP. This should be a good celebration
| | | This past weekend I listened to Ross. a bit and today I decided to google whether this posthumous album was still going to happen or not. Absolutely crazy coincidence that this was announced yesterday.
EDIT: added another quote to the article
| | | My lacrimal glands are not ready for this
| | | Maybe Tomorrow was accidentally the perfect swan song, so that will always be his goodbye, but I'm just hoping they did him justice with this release. I've heard a lot of the raw versions of the songs that will likely comprise the posthumous release and there's potential there.
| | | Man, he died two years ago? Where has that time gone?

Same place he did, my friend.
| | | Only know of the band from Death Stranding but it was some beautiful music. Will definitely be checking this out
| | | rest in peace

I really wish more big shot record execs would understand this. Posthumous albums comprised of scattered voice notes and unfinished ideas are hardly albums (looking at you Juice WRLD and XXXTENTACION execs)
| | | Granted, I haven't listened to either of those artists much, I'm moreso angry at the practice of some posthumous albums, which makes me all the more relieved that Andrew acknowledges that they wouldn't have done this if Ryan hadn't finished recording his parts before his passing
| | | Yeah, I was iffy on this concept at first, but seeing that Ryan had completed his recording and it was just requiring the touch of others makes me really excited about what this could be.
