Tilian was good on Mothership, but I've been more-or-less listening to this band in spite of his performances for years. He sounds like buster baxter from Arthur. Hopefully can hear someone better along with Mess who got progressively way better from DBMII to now.

edit: it's wild how many people only listen to the Tilian-era records. Death Star and the DBMs clear pretty much all of them except Mothership which I'd put in the top 5.

It's beyond late to save face and honestly I don't think Tilian's departure will actually revitalize the band but uhhh i'm glad that perhaps they'll have someone again who sounds less like an uptight theater kid.

The band has always been at their best while playing musical chairs with their vocalist. Switching vocalists for whatever [insert random reason] has always worked in their favor and been a net positive for the band as a whole. Honestly, I'm surprised that they didn't part ways much sooner, especially given how stale and repetitive their music had become. Even before the allegations were made, I'm sure that they knew their time with Tilian was nearing an end. However, I'm perplexed why they didn't just move on following everything that was publicly brought to light.

Not sure why it needs to be said, but drug and alcohol addiction aren't really comparable to sexual assault or even shitty behaviour. Hell, if my career depended on constant travel and having to putting on a show for, and pandering to, a bunch of nonces I'd probably have drug and/or alcohol problems too.

Alcoholism and drug use are unfortunately pretty rampant problems in the touring biz, from what I remember.

Dude was by far their worst vocalist and never made anything good with the band. I remember the only thing I ever remotely found passable was his demos for Saosin before they reunited with Anthony Green, and I still made fun of those for how bitchy he sounded.

Also, most of the dudes in this band suck ass and have been making stagnant ass music their entire careers post-Happiness. Will Swan at least had Sianvar, but I don't know why you'd listen to that band when Hail The Sun does it better and doesn't have edgy shitlords for band members (yet).

If Jonny or Kurt get brought back in to the fold, I have genuine hope they might be able to make something decent again.
