Baizley Hits Mastodon's Road 2026-09-14 by John Marinakis CONTRIBUTOR | 5 Comments | Baroness vocalist and guitarist John Baizley will join Mastodon onstage during their upcoming Poisonous Weapons Tour, which features support from Deafheaven and Alcest.
The announcement follows Baizley's appearance at Mastodon's intimate September 11 show at The Earl in Atlanta. He joined the band for six songs, including Oblivion, The Czar, Colony of Birchmen and Blood and Thunder. The performance also brought Curl of the Burl back into the set for the first time since 2013.
Mastodon said they enjoyed the collaboration so much that they invited Baizley to continue it on tour, performing a special selection that will revisit songs absent from their recent setlists.
Baizley will supplement a touring lineup that already includes guitarist Nick Johnston and keyboardist João Nogueira alongside Troy Sanders, Bill Kelliher and Brann Dailor.
The North American run begins September 16 in Orlando, Florida, in support of the band's latest album, Marrow Deep.

Seeing them in Toronto, got to say I don’t love this, not a fan of Baizley’s voice at all. Still pumped for the show and it’s cool they brought those songs back but yeah idk.
