The fact that so many books still name The Old Kanye as "the greatest or most significant or most influential" rapper ever only tells you how far rap music still is from becoming a serious art.

last year in the dead of winter kanye randomly showed up at a chain korean bbq place at a strip mall in my hometown of suburban maryland (apparently was here to record some rightwing podcast that never actually happened because kanye got into it with the host lol). this restaurant was completely dead for as long as i've known of its existence but for the past year business has been booming because its now known as "that place kanye ate at" among the kids

"how is kanye pretentious"

An old article when he had at least, a vague appearance of sanity:

It's insane what people can forgive a person for if they made some decent albums a decade ago.

I love Ye and Donda is his best album. Ty$ is great. Don't care about the kid I'm not her dad but Once Again is nice. Think this could start off the new album though maybe.

You don't have to forgive someone to empathize and hope they get better.
I think that's the issue for more people tbh.
Ye probably isn't going to escape his echo chamber. I don't think disaster can bring him to a breaking point anymore unless it hurts someone he loves, and that's really sad.
From my viewpoint, the best I can hope for is someone with inclinations like JPEGMAFIA getting Kanye to admit he can be hypocritical. That's why I couldn't be fucked to complain about that Burzum shirt pic.

From Ozzy Osbourne's FB page:

"Kanye West ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “IRON MAN” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!"

I don't know why he's screaming, lol
