They’re just on another level.
This is like some Beatles Rubber Soul to Revolver level shit.
It’s the previous album’s aesthetic but with the strong songwriting of their earlier albums. This could be a classic in the making.

I'm very surprised this song has been as positively received as it is on here. Especially Alex's singing, which I think is pretty rough on this track. Not to mention the production of the vocals sounds odd to me and like it wasn't mixed correctly. I've been a fan of AM since like 2007 and I really have not been feeling these last two singles. They've been one of my favorite bands of all time, but I'm worried about this album. This David Bowie cosplay they're doing just isn't working for me.

I think it’s fair enough if this isn’t your style, it’s a million ways away from Favourite Worst Nightmare of something, but the performance and production is objectively good surely.
Took me a while to get into TBHAC but once it clicked I love it and I think this’ll be much of the same.
