R.I.P. John Goodsall 2021-11-14 by Brendan Schroer CONTRIBUTOR | 8 Comments | British guitarist John Goodsall, known primarily for his work with jazz fusion group Brand X and progressive rock band Atomic Rooster, has passed away at the age of 68. While a cause of death has yet to be revealed, Goodsall was admitted to a hospital for pneumonia back in September, causing Brand X to postpone tour dates; this has led to speculation that his death was due to complications related to the condition.
Jazz musician and journalist Colman Jones had the following to say about Goodsall after his passing:
“So sorry to hear this sad news about Brand X guitarist @JohnGoodsall from ex-bandmate Percy Jones.. Goodsall, the only remaining original member, had been ill with Pneumonia, leading to the postponement of the current @OfficialBrandX tour.. no idea whether the band will continue.”
Check out the video below to listen to one of Brand X's most acclaimed tunes, "Nuclear Burn".
