Toots Hibbert passes away 2020-09-12 by Minushuman24 | 7 Comments | Toots Hibbert of the revolutionary first wave ska/reggae group, Toots and the Maytals, passed away on September 11th, 2020 at the age of 77. His cause of death is unannounced at this time, but the news was broken via the band's facebook and twitter accounts.
Toots was a revolutionary figure in the music world. He was known for coining the term reggae and was a key figure in its eventual popularity. Toots was still going strong, touring up until the pandemic started earlier this year, and with dates scheduled for the future. Rest in Peace, Toots.

This one hit me hard. I was so excited to see him next year. And I would probably be seeing him this very weekend if it weren’t for covid.
I should also note that is heavily speculated that his passing was most likely related to covid-19 complications.
