Arrangements by Hans Zimmer. You can hear that.
Heard it once, it is a bit boring.
|
| |
Wonder if she whispers
|
| |
It fits I guess. Pretty good song, bound to be a radio hit.
|
| |
pretty damn great tbh
|
| |
she doesn't strike me as the Bond theme type, but this is pretty ok, so yea
|
| |
I've been listening a little too much to Zimmer lately, so the impact is a little blunted on me tbh. Like Trif says, the arrangement is so Zimmer it's immediate. Doesn't take away that the song itself is pretty strong and it's delivered well by Eilish, better than I'd thought her possible off to be fair.
|
| |
seems like hype ridin to me
|
| |
My first couple listens I thought she did alright but everything around her (the lyrics, the instrumentation) were very phoned in and by-the-book Bond Theme Music.
|
| |
ye the performance is good but this exact instrumental has been in a bond movie like 5 times now
was hoping she'd go weird with it, like When I Was Older (her best song tbh)
|
| |
has she learned how to open her eyes properly yet?
|
| |
''seems like hype ridin to me'' that it absolutely is. As per usual one could say.
|
| |
Trif you and I both know the best Bond theme is Portishead - All Mine at Roseland NYC
|
| |
I like billie a bit but this is pretty bland
|
| |
Ooommmmggg Bedex ❤️❤️❤️
|
| |
A bit more somber than typical bond themes. Skyfall and Casino Royale are hard to top.
|
| |
billie eyelash
|
| |
They didn't really play to her strengths at all, did they
|
| |
remember when Bond themes were unique and sounded different to one another?
|
| |
this does not sound like a Bond theme at all
|
| |
this sounds exactly like a Bond theme, which is my only issue with it. It's a bit derivative and lacks the punch I'd have expected from Billie given her album. It's too safe.
|
| |
good song, too low-key for a Bond theme
|
| |
her album sucks wym
|
| |
It’s sure as shit better than the last one.
The last minute is great but the rest is pretty much what I expected from Billie.
|
| |
Meh
Duran Duran and a-ha are miles away from this idiot.
|
| |
bottom three Bond theme of all time? gotta be
|
| |
Sam Smith raised the bar so low with his song that Billie pretty much had to step over it. Decent, expected worse.
|
| |
“bottom three Bond theme of all time? gotta be”
Not a chance. I’d say it’s better than Spectre, Die Another Day, and The Man With the Golden Gun, and that’s just off the top of my head. It’s not amazing but it’s much better than those three.
|
| |
"remember when Bond themes were unique and sounded different to one another?" yeah it feels phoned in. Its fine. But it's not that great.
|
| |
Spectre and MWTGG are better Bond themes than this
|
| |
this is what society has come to
|
| |
1.0
|
| |
The same franchise that turned down Radiohead's Spectre because it didn't sounded enough bond-ish. What else could you expect?
|
| |
Billie with the ASMR-pop once again. Not my bag.
|
| |
I'm low-key kind of disappointed that the gap between the last Bond film and the upcoming one was long enough that Lorde didn't get a chance to make a theme.
This song is fine, but just fine.
|
| |
better than last one at least but yeah basically just stock bond vibes
|
| |
i vibe with die another day and tomorrow never dies ngl
also to add to the rejected bond bangers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRrL3d4qrMo
|
| |
The only thing more shocking than people actively following new James Bond movies in 2020 is people actively following James Bond themes in 2020
|
| |
"remember when Bond themes were unique and sounded different to one another?"
the last two feel like they tremble under the weight of skyfall but no unless ur like 80 i'm pretty sure they've always sounded the same. since the times of of 60s soprano pop, 80s new wave, 90s garage rock then AI pop, the brief shining star of You know my name then the 2010s depression dirges
don't mention the 70s
|
| |
"The only thing more shocking than people actively following new James Bond movies in 2020 is people actively following James Bond themes in 2020"
the theme is the best bit at least 1/3 of the films
|
| |
i wanna see if ppl still shit on another way to die
|
| |
I havent watched a Bond film since somewhere around the year 2000
|
| |
call yourself a commonwealth citizen pfft
|
| |
tbf i dont think i've ever actually ~called myself~ that but i suppose you're right nonetheless
|
| |
i've seen sides to you no-one else has ;]
|
| |
i must have been drunk
|
| |
i made sure of it
|
| |
btw why this bitch lookin' like she got gooped on by the grinch's pigeon?
|
| |
idk dude, but if there's one thing i've learnt about 2020 it's that you're better off not asking 'why' questions about ms. eilish
|
| |
why her eyelids look like a pair of over-filled diapers?
|
| |
Starting to think she's going to transition poorly into adulthood...bitch looking awkward in way that does not appear manufactured.
|
| |
She's Gen Z, of course she's going to transition poorly into adulthood
|
| |
Billie is probably the least shit pop act that hollywood has regurgitated in 30 years
|
| |
It's alright but Sam Smith's "Writing" beats the shit out of this.
|
| |
Is this gonna be on the next Muse album
|
| |
I’m not going to listen until I see the movie but as long as it’s better than Sam Smith’s turd of an attempt I’ll be happy.
|
| |
Anyone saying that Writing on the Wall was better than this, needs to get their eardrumms checked ASAP.
|
| |
Both are boring, this slightly less so.
Also You Know My Name was AWESOME!!! Loved that one.
"unless ur like 80 i'm pretty sure they've always sounded the same."
This I don't agree with though. We've had quite some diversity in the last six or so. With Madonna's weird one (which was atrocious), Keys' and White's nice track and Chris Cornell all being something new. It's a pity that this one and Sam Smith's track were Skyfall light. That one was too successful, now the studio is convulsively trying to recreate that.
|
| |
You Know My Name was by far the best off the lot I've heard.
|
| |
Yeah it's awesome. Still love it.
|
| |
Wow, this is really good
|
| |
the pitch correction is really distracting when her vocals hit the high note tbh
like, it audibly distorts
|
| |
best Bond theme is EASILY a View to a Kill
|
| |
"
Billie is probably the least shit pop act that hollywood has regurgitated in 30 years"
This tbh. I want people to say to my face she's worse than any of the biggest pop singers 20 years ago. Maybe you can credit adele
|
| |
20 years ago? easy.
She's worse than Rihanna, Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Mary J Blige, Justin Timberlake, Eminem, Gnarls Barkley, Nelly Furtado, Fergie, Jamie Foxx, Christina Aguilera, Ludacris, Kanye West, Madonna, Destiny's Child, Britney Spears, Pussycat Dolls, Pink, Jennifer Lopez, Outkast, Jay Z, Gorillaz, Usher, Missy Elliot, Beck, Aaliyah, and Jill Scott for instance.
Not that a lot of those are any good but yeah Billie Eilish is complete shit and she's been around for like 3 days, hardly iconic.
An artist that is definitely worse than Billie Eilish tho?
Adele.
|
| |
A bunch of the aforementioned were there too, because they lasted multiple decades (something Eilish will never come close to) also Janet Jackson, Whitney Houston, TLC, Prince, MJ, Cher, Spice Girls, Fugees, Santana, Elton John, George Michael the list goes on so yeah
|
| |
Billie Eilish is Selena Gomez tier, enjoy her while she lasts
|
| |
cornell's theme is my fav
|
| |
best opening credits sequence as well imo
|
| |
Woah hold up, billy eyeleash is a shit artist yeah but she ain’t fergie bad That’s just crazy
|
| |
Yh no comment
|
| |
Most of those artists were never anywhere as popular as eilish is right now. And I'm talking pop specifically. I'll give you Rihanna, Beyonce, outkast maybe. I'm not talking legacy, I'm talking innane comments about her popularity, her music, pop music in general in the present. But whatever, it's fighting an endless tide
And I didn't say 30 years ago for a reason but regardless half those artists were well past their golden years and running largely off their past glory (lol at spice girls though)
|
| |
Not bad at all. I was waiting for a big climatic moment though, and I reckon that would have rounded it off. It's quite forgettable, and not her best. Can't discredit her (and her brother's) talent though.
|
| |
"Writing on the Wall" is one of the best Bond themes yall are crazy.
|
| |
nope
|
| |
No way, that track was silly.
Also he literally was suffocating in his own tongue during the "I'm suuffPPhhhooccAssiiinGg" part
|
| |
Well that was boring
|
| |
I have to go back to the early 80s to find a bond tune I like less than that one. And somehow it still got #1
|
| |
"An artist that is definitely worse than Billie Eilish tho?
Adele."
she's like an edgy adele
|
| |
Best Bond song imo is World Is Not Enough
|
| |
The World is Not Enough is garbage
|
| |
👉😎👉
|
| |
Chris Cornell's theme for CR is legit, as is that whole movie in general.
Agreed with Pots though, Eilish is pure caca
|
| |
Esquire named it #4 all time ....
Here's the list with youtube links if anyone feels like going down memory lane
https://www.esquire.com/entertainment/music/g26729930/james-bond-theme-songs-ranked/
|
| |
"Esquire named it #4 all time ...." it must be true then
|
| |
oh chris cornell sitting all the way down at 24, ok
|
| |
Yeah didn’t even scroll any further.
List was immediately horse shit
|
| |
Oh my that list is pure garbage. Couldn't disagree more. Ok I could if they put Die Another Day at no1, but jeeeeeesh.
|
| |
Coming from the teenager with zero life experience, who glorifies depression and mental disorders in her songs, this has zero emotional impact and probably the worse bond theme to date.
|
| |
The best thing about Billie Eilish is how angry she makes people
She's gone too far this time, ruining the integrity of clickbait ranking lists
|
| |
[2]
|
| |
And now she's ruining the sanctity of the longest running continuously milked movie franchise in history smh
|
| |
who the fuck still watches james bond in current year
|
| |
lol you know my name was trash, man with the golden gun is the only one i think is worse
its almost ubiquitous at this point but diamonds are forever is easily the best bond theme
|
| |
who are you
|
| |
Atleast you know my name was accompanied by an actually good bond movie
|
| |
James Bond never gets old bro, though I'd rather we get a new guy to play him. Daniel Craig was an alright Bond, but not good enough to justify 6 movies.
|
| |
na im not judging im mostly just surprised at how many people are still into it
i got nothing against the films
|
| |
decent song nothing special. should work for the sake of the film but her edginess can't really be felt here imo
|
| |
"The World is Not Enough is garbage"
Got pissed off for a sec, and then realized the pun lol
|
| |
I like it
|
| |
Only commenting on this now so I remember to give my thoughts later. I'm a decent fan of the Bond films, and I truthfully enjoy hearing each 'Bond Song' on a first-listen when I watch the film during the opening credits. I haven't heard this song yet, and I don't plan to until I see the movie. I hope it's decent?
