New Cash album due out 2006-05-02 by Brain Toad | 4 Comments | A new album entitled American V: A Hundred Highways is slated for release on July 4th, 2006. The album consists mainly of material from recording sessions Johnny was doing with producer Rick Rubin before his death on September 12, 2003.
The new album will contain at least 2 Cash originals, "I Came to Believe" and "Like the 306", the latter being the final song Cash ever wrote. And like the previous American Recordings albums, there will be plenty of covers from artists such as Hank Williams, Gordon Lightfoot, and Bruce Springsteen. Cash will also be joined by many famous musicians like Mike Campbell of Hearterbreakers fame, Benmont Tench, Matt Sweeny and Jonny Polonsky.
