second half isn't quite as boring
|
| |
Band has made the same boring album 7 times now
|
| |
That's an easy criticism to make, but based on the two songs released from this, not really valid this time around. It seems like they are attempting to branch out a bit. An honestly their token sound is lovely enough to render their lack of progression moot at least for me.
|
| |
there's nothing worse than naming an album its own number it's so fucking hokey
|
| |
Kind of like it, that second half is very nice and sounds nothing like beach house
|
| |
lock this in for dullest record of the year
|
| |
guitar around 2:37 is neat
|
| |
They could have named it anything and it would have been better than 7.
Stripes. There, that's a better name.
|
| |
lol fuck off guys, you're not even giving this album a chance. Sure, their albums have a similar sound, but each has a distinct vibe that's different from the other releases. This absolutely is the case with the two songs that have been released so far, which are outstanding
|
| |
most boring band in the world.
|
| |
kinda low key like these guys now shhhhhhhhhhh
|
| |
took like four years but ye
|
| |
Negativity here is retarded song slays and who tf cares about album names
|
| |
Both songs are amazing. Hell yes, so fucking excited for this one.
|
| |
lol I feel like nobody bashing this even listened to the song, this is incredible and this next album's going to be crazy
|
| |
wow beach house fans are defensive
Which is a surprise, as I'd always thought they must be loads of fun at parties
|
| |
great generalization powers right there, u angry johnny boy
|
| |
incredibly keen for this new album and to see if they can get back to their peak (which for me was bloom).
|
| |
absolutely psyched for this album now, first single was sick and "Dive" is absolute gold.
sounds like a nice mix of depression cherry and bloom which are my two favorites. album of the year contender for me already.
|
| |
I care about album names and naming your album its number in your discography reeks of laziness and pretty much outs how insipid it’s gonna be
|
| |
yeah total lack of inspiration w/ # titles
|
| |
okay so now i guess we have to hate Portishead for "Third" lol these are the sophomoric comments i've ever seen
|
| |
people like to whine about the stupidest things as per usual
|
| |
issa gunna be guuuddddd
|
| |
titles and album art are all a part of the experience imo and it's the same with for example interpol s/ting their fourth album
i don't think it's a stupid thing, doesn't inherently ruin the album but it's still a bugbear
|
| |
"The title, 7, itself is simply a number that represents our seventh record. We hoped its simplicity would encourage people to look inside. No title using words that we could find felt like an appropriate summation of the album."
I respect this reasoning honestly.

'I care about album names and naming your album its number in your discography reeks of laziness and pretty much outs how insipid it’s gonna be'
Exception - numbering or even better 'self-titling and numbering' from the start can be the best option of all.
See Zeppelin I to IV, instant legendary status. Caveat: only works if you are a great band and keep consistency throughout the numbered run.

| |
all naysayers are getting noogied for being big nerds
|
| |
noice
|
| |
Sure the title’s lazy but at least the art is beaut. I’m hyped.
|
| |
superb
|
| |
but imagine touring and writing music for three years and then summarising that period of work and creativity by calling your album ‘7’
smacks of boredom and I bet the album is completely average, if this shit didn’t matter at least a little bit albums wouldn’t even have names
|
| |
anatelier is getting noogied
|
| |
this is my hill to die on
|
| |
i still like them ://////
|
| |
Almost wasn't bored shitless by this one. They do that sound well but when you've heard it a hundred times over by other and who mix it up with other genres and dynamics (and interesting vocals) beach house just gets weaker by comparison.
|
| |
i absolutely love this song
|
| |
what the fuck happened to this thread haha
song is still amazing
|
| |
Song is amazing. They can call the album whatever the fuck they want.
|
| |
agreed with wing, song is amazing, couldn't care less what the album is called
|
| |
hmm, after listening to the song 30 more times, i have to take back what i said about the song being amazing
it's greater than amazing, mega stoked for the album
|
| |
^yes.
