ugh

I really like Castle on the Hill, the other is pretty forgettable.
| |
I heard Shape Of You on the radio this morning. I see the appeal, and I don't know what the style of X was, but I didn't like the primary electronic element. I don't know if that was already on X, but I assumed it was like a singer/songwriter acoustic thing.
| |
RUN!
| |
So much nostalgia pandering from a guy still in his early 20's..
| |
generic af
| |
that guy has the most punchable mug I've ever seen
| |
i'm so underwhelmed by these and i'm a huge sheeran fan so its even worse
| |
Castle is good though

he shifted more towards straightforward pop once he put out his first full length, but there's still an acoustic presence on them
yea castle is super good, shape of you is pretty decent mostly with the chorus and i like the scratchy acoustics for percussion
| |
hate this dude, just uses the fact that he's ginger and awkward to make tween girls feel sorry for him n buy his stuff
| |
and the fact that the general public have never seen an effects pedal before in their life and thus think he is some kind of wizard
| |
The pedal thing is so annoying like. Everyone thinks its some amazing revolutionary shit.
| |
i will judge these...
| |
Will there be a song about getting stabbed in the face by a princess
| |
Glad to see he's still making a career out of middling singles and forgettable albums.
| |
huh you know i actually don't mind these, they aren't sappy or overdramatic, pretty standard pop but i can kinda dig it
| |
Sounding pretty sappy to me :3
| |
By pop or his own standards im not sure i would call it sappy. Castle is pretty effective from a lyrical point imo. Shape of you is just a sex song tho lol
| |
Have to give it to the guy considering how much the internet shuts down when he release's music. Man has a great voice and there's some definite elton john inspired yelping in the back of Castle likely why he also name dropped Tiny Dancer in the lyrics aswell, but like all his music his voice is the only element to ever standout and even then sometimes that doesn't even make an impression. Shape Of You is sub par even for a club tune, where my bass at.
| |
what can i say about these songs?
boring
| |
Probably blows like everything he has ever done, can't wait to hear these 29297889 times on the radio
| |
castle over the hill was okay, shape of you is awful
| |
Shape of You is a fuckin BANGER and I didn't realize it til the 4th spin
| |
Same. Castle on the hill just gets better too
| |
both are decent pop songs that i know i will be able to tolerate in 6 months when my work radio catches up and i'll be listening to them both 6 times a day
| |
Yeah Castle On The Hill is one of my early pop favorites this year. Really good song. Still couldn't care less about the other one even after several listens.
| |
castle on the hill sounds like a mediocre imitation of a bland 70s soft rock song. tries to be uplifting but it's ultimately pretty weak. (2/5)
shape of you sounds way better and he fits the song better, but the lyrics are actually really bad lmao. and it gets pretty annoying. also, this one doesn't really seem very marketable, as far as his songs go, but who knows. (2.5/5)
| |
castle on the hill sounds like another awful track in the "childhood nostalgia" trend thats been happening for the past few years.
and i really don't need an opening line that reminds me of 7 Years.
| |
castle on the hill sucks, shape on you is great radio-pop
