RIP Bernie Worrell 2016-06-24 by DatsNotDaMetulz | 12 Comments | Bernie Worrell, the keyboardist known as the "Wizard of Woo", has passed away aged 72 after a short battle with lung cancer, according to his wife.
Worrell, known for his work in acts such as Parliament-Funkadelic (with whom he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997) and Talking Heads, as well as his own solo career and brief time in Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains (also known as C2B3), had revealed in January that he was suffering from a "mild form" of prostate cancer along with stage 4 liver cancer, and asked for donations from fans to help him pay his medical bills, as well as complete what was set to be his final album, Retrospectives. No word has yet been released regarding the album's status.
