dem nostalgic feels, production is kinda sweet, spencer is meh.
| |
Drunkenly sang a duet of this with my friend Lexi once
| |
overly compressed drums sweet my favorite
| |
damn im in middle school again
| |
Not bad, this remake just seems kinda pointless to me though. I don't really like spencer's vocals either.
| |
drums sound like a macbook keyboard
| |
IT's not even the junz that's the biggest turnoff for me and modern metalcore/post-hardcore, it's the fucking drum tones
| |
For nostalgia's sake, this is pretty neat. Otherwise.. meh.
| |
good thing they didnt do anything to anything off Heroine cause this is sheit
| |
Well I actually think Spencer's vocal style fits really well here. At least it sounds like it belongs in this style a lot more than it does in the realm of music that Periphery is in.
| |
Hate overproduced drums. Otherwise, pretty cool.
| |
Spencer fits this band perfectly. Now make FFTL a full commitment and let Periphery be instrumental.
| |
Damn I wasn't expecting to like this bit I did I did
| |
is this really re-recorded or just the same (shit) song
| |
He sounds like he's trying to imitate Sonny's vocal delivery, but I don't know, maybe they just have more similar voices than I thought.
| |
his voice is fitting to this song. Remake is good.
| |
It's prob hard for him not to imitate Sonny's vox
| |
it's been a while since i've listened to this album but the vocals sound almost identical to me lol
| |
I cried
| |
The only time Sonny's shitty vocals will be preferred.
| |
"it's been a while since i've listened to this album but the vocals sound almost identical to me lol"
I just listened to the album and they sound almost identical
| |
I dig it, but it's just not the same without Sonny
| |
Spencer fits this band perfectly. Now make FFTL a full commitment and let Periphery be instrumental. [2]
I would be so much more encouraged to see both of these bands live if this were the case.
| |
this remake is pretty nice, interested in the new EP
| |
I've always liked this band, and Spencer, so this is pretty cool. He fits pretty well. Interested to hear the new stuff they put out.
| |
I think he did the song just justice, well done
| |
Sounds like autotune.
| |
I like the original, somehow, and this is pretty cool too.
| |
fun, but only because it sounds familiar. I can't put my finger on it, but it sounds something like overproduced. Not sure about it, but I prefer the original.
| |
do these guys really think that head squeezing drum sound is really something to be desired?
| |
Band has always been horseshit, only respectable member was travis richter and that is because he worked with the human abstract, they should stay dead and skrillex should dissapear quickly too
| |
They had their moments, though few
| |
Im still shocked that they recruited Spencer.
| |
"Band has always been horseshit, only respectable member was travis richter and that is because he worked with the human abstract, they should stay dead and skrillex should dissapear quickly too"
Whoa whoa whoa, they also had Derek Bloom! Gotta say, I fucking hate Spencer. He's terrible in Periphery and he's going to be terrible in FFTL. R.I.P. Sonny Moore.
| |
spencer>>>
| |
As a teen I jammed this album so hard. Spencer suits so well.
Guitars sound pretty meh.
| |
You can tell it's Spencer, but damn he
sounds like a better sonny. This remake is
good. I wouldn't mind them remaking this
album. I just think sonnys vocals were bad
on this album and much better on heroine.
| |
i honestly don't get the constant complaints about spencer's voice. he's an excellent singer and suits the band surprisingly well, considering sonny was already pretty whiny sounding. that's all more than enough to make me enjoy this.
| |
I love Sonny's 16 year old whine
| |
Thomas he just sounds lame with periphery. He sings notes that don't really suit his voice. He is a great singer but the stuff he sings with periphery (minus a few songs of course) usually sounds odd. This really shows he is suited for poppier stuff. Think Scarlet from Periphery II.
| |
I'm trying to figure out if I'd enjoy this if it wasn't for the nostalgia factor, Spencer sounds better than expected
| |
@chug. Who's Thomas?
| |
ThomasTheCure. cbf @'ing him
| |
p great. Never could get into these guys but this has me looking forward to the new EP
| |
I had a hard time not enjoying this, even if it doesn't sound all that different from the original. Spencer's vocals are less whiny than skrillex's
| |
not bad, not my cup of tea, i never liked this band, but sponce defs isn't horrible in this. prob his best fit.
i hate him in periphery though, i miss the older periphery vocalists.
| |
Damn it sounds much better than I expected. Spencer trying to sound like Sonny? It would be cool if Sonny came back but this works too.
| |
Cant wait to hear some new shit with him!
| |
man both of these vocalists are shiiiiiiIIIIIIITTTTTTT
| |
Spencer rapes skrillex or sonny or whatever, lolololo
| |
oh yeah but they're both bad tier vox
| |
ITT: People forgetting Sonny was fucking 16 when he recorded this. Of course he was whiny.
| |
oh yeah but they're both bad tier vox
so metal
pretending talented singers don't have strong voices that hit notes becuz u dont liek the style
got damn
ur so much better at hearing
| |
and Spencer's technically way better, but the way Sonny sang on Dear Diary... was so unique.
| |
Sonny sounds a lot Radke (or vice versa)
| |
not really
| |
Idk I was just listening to Ride the Wings of Pestilence last night and it sounded crazy similar to Ronnie on ETFs debut, he even does that little squeal sometimes
| |
Man, I miss the mid-2000s scene stuff sometimes haha. I thought Spencer did a good job, but I prefer Sonny's voice. The production was pretty bad though.
I wanna hear the full version of Latest Plague with Spencer
| |
"Man, I miss the mid-2000s scene stuff sometimes haha."
Same. I have to be in the right mood though
| |
wasn't a fan of the original, much prefer this version
| |
I remember these days. Bought this album, saw them on the Smartpunk stage at Vans Warped Tour, met Sonny, got my picture with him, and he was really nice.
Then I found out he was Skrillex. I hate dubstep with a passion. But still, he was a nice guy.
