Never thought I'd have to say this about an Elitist song, but shit sucks. What a disappointment. Hopefully the other songs on the EP sound better.

Guitars took a step back, cleans are a bit catchy though.

if they took these cleans and put them on the debut LP that'd be great.

idk why there are so many chords. this sounds almost post-hardcore ish risecore

Pretty underwhelming. I enjoyed Reshape Reason, but the harsh vocals in this song are nowhere close to the same quality and lack the variation that made them interesting. That said, the cleans are a nice addition, drumming is excellent as always.

Now this isn't a knock against you Moreira, but you have the strangest taste.

I don't know for how long you've been here, but a lot of people here say the exact same. I still don't
understand why, to an extent.

I mean, there's people here that enjoy black metal just as they do hip hop. Isn't that "stranger" than
a dude that simply listens to various Metal sub genres? Not that it is for me, but then my taste
wouldn't be that strange either right?

Damn this actually is pretty bad. They sound like a generic Rise band now, what the hell happened.

Moreira you like earth over RR, interesting.

as a long time elitist fan, i'm gonna head with Caves > RR > probably the new EP > Earth.

imo earth was their most boring uninspired work to date. RR showed so much growth in song writing. this song is clearly a step back though, we can ALL agree on that i think :p

I'm starting to think Caves was a fluke

i think it was the departure of their original drummer and other guitarist that killed the caves sound

True, I forgot that the band has gone through some lineup changes. That seemed to have made a hell of difference in their sound.

have you heard the ex-guitarist's solo work? it's more similar to caves, albeit instrumental

Eh, sounds boring if it's only instrumental.

i dont mind instrumentals on the odd occasion. but i can see why some don't appreciate them. vocals add a lot to music.

Hate to say it because I know Mike is a great dude, but I've got to question the lyrics on this song.

All in all, I think the instrumentals weren't necessarily bad. We can all admit it sounds overproduced, but otherwise, it sounds a lot to me like it had potential, but just went astray trying to be accessible.

"To be honest, I've been a fan of Elitist for a really long time for all the sick riffs and technical rhythms. This song, however, sounds like Rise Records. It might be a compliment to some, but its a brutal insult to me. Sounds really uninteresting. Nothing catches me, its not heavy just slow, singing is fine, riffs do not stand out at all like I'm used to. From a guitarist who has been influenced by you so much, I'm a little disappointed. However, hopeful for the rest of the EP."

i think it's a completely different roster than the band that made caves and earth

Yeah it is but Julian is still there and I'm pretty sure it's the same guys that made Reshape Reason which was extremely good so I'm just wondering how and why they came up with this.

no nothing special but imagine reshape reason with the addition of these cleans, i think it could be quite good.

i find myself humming the cleans near the end quite often since the songs release. something about them just speaks to my soul ^_^

So I heard some previews from the new EP. It sounds good. I'm pretty sure it'll be better than Earth but it probably won't compare to Caves or RR. I guess this song was just the worst song out of all the others on the new EP.
