Unter Null: Album Release News 2009-12-17 by Trey STAFF | 26 Comments | Erica Dunham’s industrial project, Unter Null, is finally set to release its second album, Moving On. It will be released in 3 different versions through Alfa Matrix records on February 26, 2010. The album was produced and engineered by Claus Larsen (Leaether Strip) and displays just how much she has matured and broadened her artistic approach since her debut was released in 2005.
Moving On is available to pre-order in 3 different versions - a normal CD version, a deluxe carton box edition including the exclusive "Moved On" bonus album (featuring 9 exclusive songs plus 4 remixes from Acylum, Neikka RPM, Kant Kino and DYM) and a super fanbox edition will also be marketed in very limited quantities including a T-shirt, parts of Unter Null's keyboard that Erica crushed into pieces after composing this new album and the bonus "Mixing On" album with exclusive remixes by Siva Six, Larva, Wynardtage, Implant, Alien Vampires, Essence Of Mind, Dedman, HEX RX, Xyogen, Fraqtured:sound, Freakangel and Detritus.
Unter Null's sound could be described as equal parts melody and noise, venom balanced with sentiment, and a blend of sounds influenced by a wide variety of genres spanning from industrial, classical, black metal, and IDM.

If this is her last album I'm going to have to get the 3CD fan box.
| | | IM SO EXCITED IM SO EXCITED IM SO MOTHERFUCKING EXCITED FOR THIS SHIT.
Lol at the black metal influence though.
| | | ha ha, yeah, maybe that influence is on the new album because it's not really on the old albums. (I admit I copied/pasted that last paragraph from the e-mail I got).
| | | I can see her... breasts.
| | | She's not bad looking in most her pictures (minus the blood and general weirdness)... also, found song samples and added the link for them.
| | | Cute.
Yea, I'm influenced by all varieties of music, and just because I might say "black metal influence" doesn't exactly mean that my music is in any way black metal ;) I'm sure you can comprehend that.
Not to mention that the most prominent black metal session musicians all have years of JAZZ practice and classical theory. And, well, I'm classically trained in more than a couple of instruments.
So I could also say "classical influence", and "jazz influence", and maybe even some middle eastern influence. I'm all over the map.
Also, that picture used of me is EXTREMELY outdated.
Cheers,
Erica
| | | Yeah. You have to excuse some of the users on this site ;)
It's interesting that you say that, because I can hear some classical influence, but not really black metal (not as much as with a band such as Psyclon Nine, at any rate). As for the picture, Alfa Matrix doesn't have anything post-2006 that I've found on their site. Anyway, I'm glad to see that the fire didn't cause you to give up... looking forward to another Stray album too.
| | | Wait, was that....was that actually Erica?
| | | More musicians read stuff on this site than some people think.
| | | Oh no I don't doubt that at all (I wasn't attempting to discredit this site at all), I was just a little shocked that's all. I think that's really awesome.
I've only discovered her recently but i'm really digging it
| | | If you like this, and are ok with a bit more melody I highly reccomend her other project: Stray. The album is Abuse by Proxy.
| | | Am searching for it now! Thanks Willie, or is Trey alright?
| | | Trey is fine... my screen name was a one-second decision when I never planned on staying on the site.
| | | You can change it though can't you?
| | | I can, but I never do.
| | | Well that's just lazy! But once again, thank you Trey. I'll find a copy and let you know what I think.
| | | You could make it your very first review ;)
| | | Well you never know do you lol
| | | I actually never expect musicians to pop up on this site. Otherwise I might be a little more professional. New picture should be added.
| | | Yeah. I checked the record label site before posting the news and their pictures are all outdated too.
| | | What about the one with her and the gun? Hee hee.
| | | RE: new promo pictures, if you dig deeper, check out www.myspace.com/unternull under "promo pictures". and yes, alfa matrix should have the new images up soon. the blood imagery is extremely outdated and it's something i no longer wish to continue to represent my project.

| | | i just actually happened to run across this site, never knew it existed before. there's some pretty good information and i will probably be back a bit
| | | Pixture is fixd. Also, is there an easier and possibly more convenient way to acquire Stray's Abuse By Proxy? I've found a used copy on amazon for a staggering 15 bucks.
| | | YESYESYESYES, i will be awaiting the arrival of this album.
Balls, Abuse by Proxy is awesome.
| | | Thanks for the point in the right direction and thanks to Balls for the update - those sites (Myspace, Facebook) are blocked at work and it sucks. There will definitely be a review as soon as Alfa Matrix releases the promo.
