pwd is good live, architects are great and abr is one of the best live bands ive ever seen.

That was definitely different, but it is for the best hopefully the rest of the album is as varied.

Sweet lord this record is going to own. Song was amazing. The clean section will be so epic live.

That was a damn nice song, especially since I am not a fan of this style of metalcore. I won't be getting the album or seeing this band live but atleast I have a little respect for them now. Also BTBAM is over-rated. I live in NC and every frat boy thinks they are the shit. Gets old. I just grew out of them I guess.

the new album still sounds like messengers to me, oceans is a bit different with that melodic breakdown, but that's about it yo.

the awesome thing about ABR is that they make great, catchy metalcore Brent. Whenever you get tired of listening to prog, you can throw this on and always have a good time.

Good point. i see them as pretty spectacular within metalcore. But yeah i mean if you're comparing them to stuff like BTBAM, Dream Theater, Opeth, Protest The Hero, you'll be dissappointed.

It seems like they're adding some breathing room into their songs now instead of their normal constant chugging. Check out "Marianas Trench".

Bands still needs to do more songs similar to those on Thrill Seeker.

In my opinion nothing will top Thrill Seeker. This album could be better than Messengers, though. Whatevs... Poison The Well's new album just slays.

one of ABR's main strengths is the ability to play their instruments really well.

However, their songwriting is very simplistic and formulative. They just have the chops to back that up and make it interesting.

This does sound pretty BTBAMish. And according to wikipedia, Tommy from BTBAM actually does some vocals on one of the tracks. That'll be cool.

The songs from this new album are starting to grow on me quite a bit now. Their old stuff just bored me and I got tired of people going nuts over their guitarists when they were just doing standard riffs and raping the harmonic minor scale.

This and the new Oh Sleeper will probably be the only two metalcore albums I pick up this year.

You didn't pick up the new Maylene and the Sons of Disaster? I guess they can hardly be classified as Metalcore at this point.

I'm planning on picking that up at some point. I'll always have a soft spot for Maylene, but yeah I don't really consider them to be a metalcore band anymore...they haven't really been since their debut.
