New Rise Against video

2006-06-23 by Damrod EMERITUS | 25 Comments
Most people know that Rise Against are motivated by political, social and world issues. They adress these problems in their songs, and are also active to represent the values the music represents. One result is the band's activities with animal rights group PETA. Or videos like this one, that combine both aspects together.

The video to the bands new single "Ready to fall" is now available online for everybodys viewing pleasure. It's available at these places:

YouTube

IMPORTANT NOTE: The version hosted at PETA2 is the unedited version, as far as I can judge the version on YouTube is edited. Especially the PETA-version has scenes in it that might be very hard to swallow for some, so if you have problems with images of dying or dead animals, animals skinned alive and the such, you might want to consider the YouTube version.

I hate the video. The song is good. Rise Against just looks like a band that has no fun, which is a must in punk. The lead singer looks like he's never smiled.
Yeah, that was somewhat graphic. The video's footage completely overshadows the song, methinks. Mostly because "Ready to Fall" really isn't that good to begin with.
 Take that back!
I wish my cp wasn't so crappy I can't play youtube, or the like.

Well, given the topic the video adresses, it would not really suit them all laughing and smiling, now wouldn't it?

I don't know all videos by Rise Against, but I'm sure they have their share of fun in life. Even in their videos

They had plenty of fun on Loveline, the radio show, when they were on it.

Hahaha
Pretty disturbing images there. I like that they're supporting a good cause. Great song too by the way.

It really is a great song. Sadly, it's the only new song I've heard. This Message Edited On 06.23.06

I think the chorus kind of sounds like the chorus of Miss Murder by AFI.

I don't expect them to have a bloody parade while doing that video, but in Swing Life Away and the other single from SSOTCC, the singer never changed his expression. It's a moot point, but still, I don't like the video.

I can picture Tim standing in an alley while singing the chorus with a green sky The area would be dirty and grimy, but Tim is there as a symbol of prosperity. God I wish I could direct music videos.

I haven't seen the video yet, but will once it's debuted on MTV, or whatnot.

Weird. That's almost exactly what I picture when I hear that chorus. This Message Edited On 06.23.06

Rise Against is awesome. Tim really does not smile a whole lot but was extremely nice the two times I met him. Great song, above average video.

Sounds like a Bad Religion ripoff song and I hate the polotics of PETA, and most likely Rise Against.

Good on Rise Against for being political. It's some tricky buisiness. I love the new song and their other albums are great too.
PETA pisses me off though. They fight all the wrong battles.

Great video, great album and great song.. i think its great they stand up for what they believe in. Too many people go about their business in their own little world and never think about the horrible things going on around them, let alone think to do something about it. PETA does make some bad choices, but i do know they help law enforcement confiscate animals that are being beaten and starved to death by their owners. I am not a vegetarian or PETA supporter, but animals should not be skinned while alive or beaten or starved for any reason... Would you skin your pet??? this video made me look into the laws of our meat industry.... and I was disgusted with what slaughter houses are LEGALLY allowed to do. Educate yourself before you voice your opinion. Kudos to Rise Against for making us aware...This Message Edited On 10.22.06This Message Edited On 10.22.06
