Cover's somewhat cool. I can't help but think Messengers will be their only great album though.

I'm not bothered really, just posting it for those who are. Messengers is ok and more than enough ABR for me.

Hey retard. This is an August Burns Red thread, not a As Blood Runs Blacks one. ABR's songs are more than breakdowns and chugging. But I'm not sure why I took the time to write this because along with a reeducation of metalcore you need one of the English language; more specifically spell check.

I don't listen to power metal besides Edguy and I've already done two Edguy reviews. I'll stick with this thanks. Unless you want to review it...

Well its not released for a while so I'll bide my time. On a more serious note, im worried for this band and its direction following its getting big.

Hmmm, strange thing is that they are actually techinical

ABR has never failed to disappoint. I'm sure it will it will be slightly different from Messenger hopefully in the right direction. We'll find out soon enough

@Slimjim. Just because they do breakdowns doesn't make them untalented, actually ABR is pretty technical. Have you tried learning their riffs?

Douglas

Although some of their stuff is somewhat technical, they waste their talent by letting nothing but open note chugging consume half of their songs. They have talent, but just make poor decisions when choosing how to demonstrate it.

I agree some chugs are pretty techy and some are pretty bland but chugging is whats metal. From mediocre bands nowdays who do the occasional chugging which im sure you all disapprove and call untalented since it what all metal bands do, its what make metal and personally i prefer chugs as i can bob my head to the song and really go crazy. C'mon what would metal concerts be without it?

They're technical writers, but they're guitaring is very uncomplicated.

Yeah. But it's all the same harmonic minor riffs, noodly noodly, chuggity chuggity, chunky noodles, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love ravioli. I mean August Burns Red.

exactly what i meant
bad day yesterday
excuse the hating
and lack of spell check (school computer)
my opinion stands
that they need to display their potential talent to awe me
at this point they're another yawn in a sea of 'core' bands
