Lily Allen going cheap 2009-02-07 by Iai EMERITUS | 11 Comments | In a move that will no doubt be seen as a victory for the millions who are urging the record industry to adopt new business models, Lily Allen's new album will be available for just $3.99.
The deal, which has been concocted in collaboration with Amazon and MySpace, will only last for a limited time after its release on February 10th, and will only be available in the US. It is felt that this decision has been made by Capitol, Allen's US record label, in response to the album's early leak onto P2P networks and blogs.

I genuinely urge even people who HATE her to buy it. We're seeing a marked movement in the direction of innovation and basically cheaper music, which is the way we all want it to go, but record companies won't persist with these techniques unless they're seen to be working at least somewhat. I'm going to buy this.
