Social Distortion frontman comments on new album

2008-12-16 by Alex101 | 12 Comments
Social Distortion frontman Mike Ness recently sat down with the O.C. Register to discuss plans for the bands's long-awaited new album. Ness commented:

"I think the next step is a Social Distortion studio album, and I'm very inspired right now. Every time I take time off and I do this, it makes it fun to come back to Social D and visa versa. You go out and you do stuff that's different and eventually you feel yourself wanting to play a little more aggressive – so it's a great balance."

It's been almost five years since Social D released their last studio album, Sex, Love and Rock 'n' Roll, which is their first recording since 1996 as well as their first release without original guitarist Dennis Danell, who died in 2000. Their new album is expected to drop sometime in 2009 and will also be the band's first release with new bassist Brent Harding, who joined them on tour in late 2004.

Social D is on hiatus at the moment, due to Ness being involved in his first solo tour in over eight years, although he has said that the band will indeed record a new album in 2009.

Haven't heard of these guys before, but they sound like my kind of band. Where should I start?

i like to say start with the self titled album from 1990. then work your way back and forward. not really much back unless you're really into rarities. just a couple albums. SD made their reputation locally and on the road. made a great debut album in '83. but recorded output up to '90 was sparseThis Message Edited On 12.17.08
