lol Jom, I was just working on this.
SLIPKNOT FOR BEST METULZ.This Message Edited On 12.04.08
| | | Terrible.
| | | I am not a fan of the Grammys
| | | Does that say The Jonas Brothers or am I hallucinating?
| | | Are the people at the Grammy Awards completely ignorant of the genres they throw these bands into? I mean seriously...
| | | some of the albums etc were in '07 though, what's up with that?
| | | "BEST ROCK ALBUM
Coldplay, Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends
Kid Rock, Rock N Roll Jesus
Kings Of Leon, Only By The Night
Metallica, Death Magnetic
Raconteurs, Consolers Of The Lonely"
probably the most skewed category
| | | One day, someone will make a set of music awards that actually mean something. ONE DAY.
| | | Most of those lists have one somewhat deserving choice, but then again not really.
BEST SOUNDTRACK
Juno
lol
| | |
BEST SOUNDTRACK
Juno
aka Kimya Dawson
| | | "The Mars Volta, "Wax Simulacra""
That's suprising. I hope they lose, that song is terrible.
| | | Can already see who I hope will win a few of those. I seemed to be the only one on this site that gave "American Boy" a second listen, and I hope that it wins at least one award. "Viva La Vida," of course, I'm definitely rooting for, as I enjoyed it a lot more than I initially thought I would (especially after "Prospekt's March").
The Mars Volta, for the win.
If that DragonForce song wins metal, I think I'll shoot my TV (and I don't mind DragonForce at all). I bet Slipknot wins it, though.
Can't stand Duffy. Can't stand Jonas Bros.
VPN said it before I did, but "Sweeney Todd" ought to win for Soundtrack. This Message Edited On 12.04.08
| | | no metallica will prolly win tbh
| | | JUDAS PRIEST!
| | | sure glad they picked the worst of the three In Rainbows singles
sweeney todd better beat juno.
| | | what poop
| | | And 'swagger' successfully infiltrates the Grammies. Its time to bust some fucking heads, people.
| | | all these songs are the best of the year why are you people so anti-establishment, you're just mad you listen to satan's music and the mainstream rejects you
| | | Tell me how any new Metallica song is better than any new Opeth song
| | | "Best rock song" is the only category here that doesn't make me want to seriously injure every person responsible for these nominations.
| | | they actually had a nominee tv show. that was lulz
| | | This is a pretty bunky list, but what's the difference between the Album of the Year award and the Record of the Year award?
| | | this is hilarious.
they nominate Radiohead for best rock song, but then pick "House of Cards".
urgh grammys
| | | house of cards was probably the worst song on the album
| | | That the Jonas Brothers are even nominated is bad enough, but they aren't even new! their first album came out in 06.
| | | The Grammys always make me laugh. My friends will be watching it and be like yeeeeeaaaaaahhh coldplay yeeeeeaaaaahhhh they won the grammys they're the best ever
| | | but, i AM better than everyone else
???
| | | Fook yeah @ Radiohead dominating. Hope they pick up alt record of the year at the least
| | |
Tell me how any new Metallica song is better than any new Opeth song
Well All Nightmare Long is better than Hex Omega.
It would be awesome if Dragonforce won. I'd love to listen to that speech.
| | | Best metal performance is crap.
| | | Rush, David Gilmour, Metallica and Nine Inch Nails are all nominated for "Best Instrumental Rock Performance"!
| | | As usual: crap except for the few
though TMV is quite random I hope they win that song is ballin
Paper Planes too
| | | but guyz where's the cynic?!
| | | Kid Rock. Best Pop Song. Best Rock Album. GENRE-DEFINING STUFF YOU HAVE HERE, SIR!
And I also hope TMV wins. Song is dope.
EDIT: Also, I still have not heard Cynic yet. This Message Edited On 12.04.08
| | | "you people are so stupid."
What do you mean "YOU people"?!?!
Freaking racist...
| | | wow, we need a review of the new ne-yo on here. it's actually not bad.
| | | Sad day seeing Metallica on the same list as cold play im foreseeing another Jethro Tull moment.
| | | best alternative release is the most interesting. I'm glad to see the grammies giving some love to My Morning Jacket... too bad it's for THEIR WORST EFFING RELEASE, they should've done it with Z if the world was just.... they did the same thing last year with Wilco
The Death Cab record was good, as is the Radiohead (but wasn't that 2007?)
I hope In Rainbows wins album of the year, it's the most deserving.
| | | also, check out how many people it took to write "American Boy" by Estelle ft. Kanye West...
I mean really? What were they all doing. One was in charge of beats, the other charge of lyrics, the other in charge of coffee, the other in charge of Mr. West's ego...
| | | welcome to pop music faggot
that song rules
| | | despite the fact that the grammys are rigged im still pulling for Radiohead.
oh and Kings of Leon better win best rock album....but it probably won't happen.
| | | i'll die a little inside if lil wayne wins album of the year. but like public enemy said WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT WHAT THEY LIKE!!!
| | | this is better than the shit they put up the past 5 years.
| | | The grammys are so redundant these days.
Best metal performance is crap.
| | | I dont care about any of this, except best alternative alternative album: I think Modern Guilt deserves that hands down !
| | | The 'best metal peformance' section is REALLY bad. In Rainbows for best album of the year out of those choices, in the metal section... probably Ministry. But only because I can stand it, unlike the rest of them, not because I like it (the fact that Dragonforce are in there really drags it down).
| | | OMG DR4G0NF0RC3 FOR BEST METAL
| | |
House of Cards is awesome
Nude is better...
| | | wtf why is Mars Volta hard rock?
| | | i dont think the grammys typically have a "progressive masturbatory noise-rock" category.
| | | Ugh, who even gives a shit of those who really LOVE music, not just passively like it. All the most generic overproduced crap they can find every year.
| | | the mars volta is the only awesome thing on here. metallica and radiohead are halfway decent. and thats about it. everything else is pretty fucking awful
| | | I hope Ministry wins, they deserve it
| | |
House of Cards is awesome
Nude is better...
No it's not, but All I Need is.
Jigsaw Falling Into Place rules all.
Really glad to see IV-34 by Nine Inch Nails get a nod, really awesome song.
| | | I was really surprised to see Raising Sand with so much nominations.
| | | Lil Wayne and TMV, that's fantastic. The metal section is trash though.
| | | I've just lost what remaining respect I've heard held for the Grammy's.
| | | I hope Dragonforce wins!!!
Lol, if they do a performance it will take up half the grammys
| | | Coldplay really deserve album of the year for Viva La Vida, it is just a fantastic record. My Apocalyspe is the best Metallica song since Enter Sandman. Clown's head will over-inflate and explode if Slipknot win again - but I do enjoy Psychosocial. Good to see the Priest there. And the Crue - SOLA is actually rather good. Kings of Leon SUCK. That is all.
| | | The Grammy Awards are such horrible things....just further promoting corporate music for the most part.
| | | hmm In Rainbows is my favorite album of 2008, but House of Cards is my least favorite track on the entire album.
There are so many better tracks!
Ne-Yo, JONAS BROTHERS...
After Soulja Boy, the Grammys is the dumbest thing in music
| | | Why is everyone so upset over this? To be honest, this is WAY better then I was expecting. Radiohead, Mars Volta, Kings of Leon? Far better then Foo Fighters winning all those awards last year.
| | | crazy
| | | Coldplay & Leona Lewis ftw.
It would be cool though if Kings Of Leon one for best rock album, but I honestly like Viva La Vida more.
| | |
and if you guys hadn't discovered sputnikmusic then this is probably the kind of stuff you would be listening to so quit acting like you're better than everyone else.
nah I never really liked music at all before this site so I'd probably be a hateful person toward the subject. and I really only ever make it clear that people suck if they're ignorant enough to not take recs and stuff
| | | The Judas Preist album made me rly rly sad.
The Raconteurs album kicked way more ass than I thought it would, gets my vote.
As does Sex On Fire
In Rainbows was pretty decent
| | | Radiohead better win Album of the Year.
| | | Why? Just why??
| | | I would love to see Robert Plant and Alison Krauss win the Album of The Year award.
