Two :30 Mudvayne Teasers

2008-09-14 by Jom | 16 Comments
Illinois quartet Mudvayne have recently posted two :30 teasers on their official site as well as through a Best Buy teaser, respectively. In recent weeks, the band has altered its MySpace page significantly - only a link to a chat room with nobody actually chatting in it remains - and the band's official site has a :30 teaser with a static-laden video.

The band will release The New Game on November 18th through Epic Records. Once again, the band has tapped Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Slipknot) to work on the record.

According to Fortman, "It's heavy and has great hooks, but it also has some moments that are a little more rock 'n' roll that are really cool. It's not anything drastic, but every now and then you'll catch a little hint of old-school rock. Also, the tones are a little more earthy sounding and a little warmer than [2005's] 'Lost and Found.'"

The album's lead single, "Do What You Do," is anticipated to hit radio on September 23rd.

The tracklisting:

01. Fish Out Of Water
02. Have It Your Way
03. A New Game
04. Dull Boy
05. Do What You Do
06. The Hate In Me
07. Scarlet Letters
08. Same Ol'?
09. Never Enough
10. A Cinderella Story
11. We The People

The band also reportedly plans on releasing another full-length collection of new material in Summer 2009. The band is said to have most of the music for the second album written, but still needs vocal melodies on four songs. Fortman shed some light on this development by saying, "We may go for even more of a metal approach on some of the songs to break it up a little bit, but who knows what they'll come up with."

I've been following that myspace teaser for about a month now haha. They updated it once saying "8/26/08" and then nothing happened >

I didn't like the Fish Out of Water teaser at first, but it's really growing on me and I'm quite excited for this new cd.

How about give Ryan Martinie his own band already.

Probably won't care much for this. If we're lucky, there will be a hot single out of this.

LD.50's names are a lot cooler, but obviously it's all about the music, so I'll just have to wait and see if the album's actually any good.

Sounds like Lost and Found all over again.

Meaning it's not L.D. 50 and therefore it is trash.

Lets face it, they will never make anything like L.D. 50 ever again so I might as well just give up on Mudvayne.

I enjoyed Lost & Found, but I hope they'll be able to do something better. They surely have the skills (well, at least a half of them) to.

i'm actually kind of excited for this even though LaF was disappointing. the opening riff in "fish out of water" sounds like the "dull boy" riff sped up. it still sounds pretty awesome.

as usual, 3/4 of the band will be good while the guitarist is still crap. why can't tribett ever play any decent riffs ever?! chad should also sing more, because his singing voice is far better than his screaming nowadays.

but if this album is anything like LD50 or TEOATTC (which is always criminally underrated), then this album will be great.
