Wow, that was actually pretty damn good.
|
| |
Agree this is quite good the solos are awesome, I guess this is suppose to be the softest song on the album
|
| |
James voice is ruined. Other than that I quite enjoyed it.
|
| |
good to hear a solo in a metallica song again. better than I expected.
|
| |
To me this sounds like St. Anger exept for the solo part, which were the only really good moments of the song. All in all not great, at least compared to 80s.
|
| |
I think it's time to stop thinking they will make Puppets part two now clearthelane.
I like it.
And i love the picture of james when you play it. Maniac! This Message Edited On 08.21.08

Starts off kinda like a "Load"-ish era song then goes straight into old-school thrash. For some odd reason the chord structure sorta reminds me of "Fade to Black" in a good way imho.
|
| |
I agree kygermo. It's a mix of slightly older metallica with some load in it.
I like it. Already downloaded it from the mission:metallica site.
|
| |
Decent!
|
| |
vocals and lyrics suck
the music is pretty good until the chorus. The intro very nice, and of course the solos are well done.
On a side note, is the album gonna be streamed, or just released entirely on September 12th?
|
| |
Wow, that was pretty good. I was afraid this would suck.
|
| |
ok i changed my mind. Solos are just good, not that great at all
|
| |
good to see lars move back to drums ..after the tin cans experiment in St. Anger...
good song
|
| |
Songs ok.
|
| |
Great song, better than I expected it to be
|
| |
Once it picks up its pretty good. Solos were decent.
|
| |
really good song. the last 4 minutes or so are amazing.
To me this sounds like St. Anger

Hey, I hear drums!
's a shame, that voice is so different now. Not bad by any means, but god... change is a *****, I suppose.
Congrats Metallica, you finally got it right again! This Message Edited On 08.21.08

I like it. I hate metallica though. their music's okay. but they're a bunch of dickheads for sure. So it's a slight guilty pleasure
|
| |
Very surprised! And this is the "ballad" too! My expectations have bumped up some more! I'd say the best single in 17 years! This Message Edited On 08.21.08

even i enjoyed this song. 8 minutes was kinda pushin it, but it didnt drag too bad.
lars still needs to fucking die
|
| |
Whoa, what happened to Jame voice? It didn't sound anything like him in the beginning. What happened to the vocal work that I foudn in Load and ReLoad (didn't like the albums much, but his voice was pretty good).Great song though.
|
| |
hahahaha god does lars suck. guitars were incredible throughout though. james sounds damn good. solos were delicious. good structure most of the way. i just wish they would dump lars for someone real.
plus, that intro sounds like a mix of fade to black and something by porcupine tree. This Message Edited On 08.21.08

Wow, that ruled.
|
| |
That was pretty fucking boring.
|
| |
about time Metallica found themselves again
|
| |
Lars is trying to be technical, but he ends up failing.
Pretty good song actually.
|
| |
i was surprised by this song escpecially james voice. overall i don't think its that good but definitely lots better than st. anger stuff. it really doesn't sound like anything from that album
|
| |
so excited I may just ejaculate...nope false alarm, distinctly underwhelmed by anything Metallica do these days.
|
| |
That was cool - great song structure! The lyrics were unpretentious (unlike most metal lyrics) which I quite liked except "love is a four letter word" which has too many precedents and is therefore a pathetic line. Also James' voice has lost so much - but still, this more than matches my expectations. This Message Edited On 08.21.08

Couldn't believe that was James singing at first, but all in all pretty solid, reminiscent of One, looks like this album my be decent after all.
|
| |
not bad at all.
|
| |
the vocals suck, but other than that this was pretty good actually, pretty impressed.
|
| |
Better than their other stuff posted on the myspace page which is not saying much at all.
|
| |
I can't believe people actually thought this song was good.
Poor effort.
|
| |
meh. this song was ok, but it certainly does not make up for what they have done. Lars is far and away the most overrated drummer in history. I do kind of like some of the solos since they are reminiscent of their 80s material. it's a shame that they don't do something cool with Robert Trujillo, the guy is a beast of a bassist.
|
| |
lol at the start of the song james sounds like the singer from the offspring. i like the song i think. im sure it will grow.
|
| |
The intro was decent. The middle was decent. The last 2 minutes gave me high hopes.
|
| |
St. Anger rules, best album ever
|
| |
o yea lollollol
|
| |
hm. I just wish lars was a tighter drummer.
|
| |
i found the song quite enjoyable.
|
| |
I like the song. Great playing by Kirk.
|
| |
i'm excited it's reading festival on sunday and they might debut this live. The song is great but i'm having trouble adjusting to james' new vocals... and hair!?!
|
| |
It's comments like the one above (about Hetfield's hair) that lead me to believe the majority of Metallica fans are closeted homosexuals.
|
| |
lol
after the second listen I didn't feel like it sounded like St. Anger anymore. Just a bit like The Unnamed Feeling.
|
| |
pretty good vocals awesome solos
|
| |
@ 4:06 the riff reminds me of Orion
|
| |
Pretty good song overall. Vocals took some getting used to, and Lars should give up the drums, but other than that...... I could do without the lyrics in the whole middle of the song, from 4 to the 5 minute mark. The riff is pretty good though.
|
| |
Holy crap. This is awesome. I might be getting ahead of myself, but I'm legitimately excited for this release now.
|
| |
FUCK YEAH 'TALLICAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
|
| |
Terrible. Long, boring, doesn't go anywhere. Not to mention, some of the absolute 100% worst drumming I have ever heard.
