Nightwish USA Tour Dates

2008-07-29 by BallsToTheWall | 10 Comments
Finland's Nightwish will once again tour U.S. soil, hitting all major markets and cities along the way. The band will bring its massively popular yet refreshingly unique blend of progressive Euro metal, fueled by the siren-like vocals of Anette Olzon, to North American shores for the third and final trek in support of last year's Dark Passion Play, which has sold nearly 75,000 copies since its September 2007 release.

Coinciding with the tour, the band will also release a digital-only collection of demos and B-sides titled The Sound of Nightwish Reborn, available through all digital service providers, on September 2. This release, which clocks in at nearly 70 minutes of music, retains "must have" status for all Nightwish diehards, since it includes a bevy of exclusive material, such as demo versions of songs from the Dark Passion Play sessions that were recorded prior to Olzon joining the band and that feature Marco Tapani Hietala handling the vocals, as well as B-sides.

Don't know where the fuck St Petersburg is but I'd like to go. Unfortunately, I hate going to concerts alone which looks like the same thing will happen with Kamelot. Fuck.

Nightwish pretty much failed when they picked the St. Louis venue to perform at back in May. I am still  about that. Stupid Nightwish booking people.

Baltimore date at Ram's Head should be great. Small venue really lets you get close to the performers. Loved it when I saw Queenscryche there.

Saint Petersburg is right West of Tampa, Florida. I can't wait for that show.

This band was okay when they still had Tarja. Unfortunately I saw them live this summer at a festival. Annette sucks, no stage presence at all. Most boring concert at the festival.

This is one of 3 concerts I'm definitely going to in September and October. Gotta see if I can get tix for my birthday.

And yeah, Sonata Arctica is opening, which makes it like Finnish metal earsecks night.
