Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. He sold the rights to play the song Rock and Roll to be played on a fucking car commercial. At that point, a video game is actually a step up.

the rock n roll cadillac ads were legit. the band all drove cadillacs anyway. from a marketing standpoint, rock n roll was also the campaign that made cadillac a premier brand again.
anyways, selling to guitar hero would be more like sellin rock n roll to power wheels.

Good Guitar hero and Rock band are both terrible. Playing them is as sad as being in an air band. Who want to be able to click buttons in a pattern. Playing a real guitar takes skill and artists shouldnt be ridiculed for not wanting their music turned into some irritating game. I hate this guitar hero crap its completely pointless it is the same as a dance mat but without the benifits of excersise, all it is is clicking buttons in time with music with crappy graphics thrown in.
I dont even like Led zeppelin but I have to respect them not selling their songs to a rubbish game.

Even though im not that big on guitar hero it's fun in small doses and those who are not serious enough(or whatever) to pick up a guitar it's somewhat of a release. You can never compare the game and playing guitar for real. The people who think they are some kind of über man cus thay made it through the game can be made fun of but theres nothing wrong with the idea of the game.This Message Edited On 07.04.08

Wow, haven't been here in a long time. Now homophobia has run rampant and people have forgotten that it is every person's secret dream to be a rock star. So for the non musician types (which doesn't include me, I play drums, for the record), if they want to play Guitar Hero or Rock Band, so be it. Even if you do pla an instrument, who cares, it's just harmless fun. Isn't that what video games are for... fun and entertainment. If you're a guitarist and you're all "go play a real guitar", I have a great idea for you. Shut the fuck up, quit your bitching and go play your own god damn real guitar.

Guitar Hero got nobody into classic rock. Classic rock kids run rampant and are highly annoying. If anything GH made Dragonforce explode.
On a side not, it's okay to play GH, but the people who are obsessed are annoying losers. If they spent that much time playing real guitar instead of make believe air guitar bullshit they would be pretty damn good. I like laughing at people playing it seriously, though. I go over to my friend's house and when I see him lean back and pull the guitar up while pushing the fake whammy bar, I can't help but laugh hysterically at him.

i dont get why people a game can cause any emotion either way. yea its not real guitar but then again its still fun. Ive never heard anyone whine that you should be out driving instead of playing gran turismo. or go on a real teasure hunt instead of playing drakes uncharted. point is musicainc like playing guitar hero, nfl players like playing maddon. its just a game take it for what it is
