Jane's Addiction Reunite Again

2008-04-17 by monamour | 6 Comments
On April 23rd the origial lineup of Jane's Addiction (Perry Farrell, Stephen Perkins, Eric Avery and Dave Navarro) will hit the stage to commemorate their reception of the NME's award for "Godlike genius". Jane's Addiction has released such landmark albums as "Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual De Lo Habitual".

This event will take place at the El Ray theatre in Los Angeles. Though the band has reunited 2 times prior, bassist Eric Avery had declined both reunion opportunities. His first replacement was Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea in 1997, while his second was bassist Chris Chaney.

Though the NME has tradionally held this award in Britain, this ceremony will take place in the United States. Previous recipients of the "Godlike genius" award include the Manic Street Preachers, New Order, and the Clash.

Of course they've still got it... what I want is for them to reunite long enough to release something else.

Why do I have difficulty in trusting NME's judgement when it comes to Godlike Genius?
