John Mayer / Sheryl Crow Tour

Singer/songwriter Jon Mayer, who has enjoyed recent success with his Rthymn & Blues oriented live album "Try" (recorded with Who bassist Pino Paladino and drummer Steve Jordan as "The John Mayer Trio") and veteren rocker Sheyrl Crow will hit the road as co-headliners beginning August 24 in Pittsburg, PA before coming to an end October 12 in Tampa, Florida in a late summer tour that is sure to be a hot one, indeed.

Both artist have reason to celebrate these days it seems as Mayer has managed to garner much praise and acclaim over the last several months for his surpisingly meaty R&B collaboration that has done much to help shed his sugary sweet image as a performer of angsty pop rock love songs, by laying down an album chock full of blues licks only hinted at in the past, and Crow, 44, is returning from a serious bout with breast cancer that saw her undergo surgery last Feburary 22.

Crow, who's former fiance and seven time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong fought a life threatening battle with testicular cancer almost a decade ago, will along with Mayer donate a portion of all ticket sale proceeds to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Mayers new album, Continuum, is slated for a September release to coincide with the tour. Tickets for all shows will go on sale June 24.

Love John Mayer, don't care for Crow. They probably won't come to my city anyway, but I might check it out. Does anyone know what style his new album will be?

I'm glad I don't live near any the mentioned cities.

Going to John Mayer at the end of September - don't care too much for Sheryl Crow either but I felt that Mr. Mayer deserved the support and respect. Check out Continuum his newly released album. It has a nice soul and bluesy touch with a hint of the pop. His guitar playing is the best out there! This Message Edited On 09.21.06
