Title of New Album is.....

2006-06-10 by Syncratic | 24 Comments
Confirmed by a source close to the band (the operator of fan-forum The Comatorium, Theory), the title of the new, recently-recorded Mars Volta album is (possibly, you never know) 'Amputechture'.
Coming on the heels of 2005's epic 'Frances the Mute', the group's third full-length effort is once again produced by guitarist Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez, and the artwork is to be done by Storm Thorgeston yet again. Red Hot Chili Pepper John Frusciante is rumored to have played a major role in the album's production.

Sorry...there should be an 'H' in the title. I fixed it in the actual story.

I hope it is...there's a lot of speculation at those forums, being that 'Amputechture' is in the De-Loused storybook and it may be a lyric from said album.

I'm a hot little potato right now.

Release date's a little iffy.

The Comatorium's saying either 8/11 or 11/8.

Or, more feasibly, sometime else.

Cool.

John Frusciante will probably suck it up though.

They're coming out with a new album already? It will only be a little more than a year and a half since Frances if this thing comes out when they say it will. That's insane but awesome too.

There's also a remix of 'Frances' in the works, which I'm not as excited about but interested in hearing nonetheless.

BS. Frusciante's playing is phenomenal and fleshes out some of the best tracks on the album.

I, and I'm pretty sure a lot of people, have a bit of a love/hate relationship going on with this band.
As for the title, that word is pretty much expected.

i dont care about the album title, half of any of the words that come of of cedrics or omars minds when it comes to anything related to music i can never understand. if anything they have accomplished making the most lyrically confusing music ever. but creating some of the most mind blowing music ever makes up for it. I CANT WAIT! i orgasmed as well

i didnt know what band the topic was talking about, thank god it was TMV. This Message Edited On 06.12.06
