Gary "Angry" Anderson, the longtime frontman of Australian hard rock band Rose Tattoo, has died at the age of 79. His family and bandmates announced that Anderson passed away in Australia on September 21, surrounded by loved ones. They remembered his devotion to his family and requested privacy while they grieve. Anderson had been hospitalized following a cardiac arrest while touring Germany in August, prompting the cancellation of Rose Tattoo's remaining European farewell dates. The family's announcement did not specify a cause of death. Joining Rose Tattoo in 1976, Anderson became the unmistakable voice behind songs including Bad Boy for Love, Rock 'n' Roll Outlaw and We Can't Be Beaten. Their influence extended to Guns N' Roses, who recorded a cover of Nice Boys. Outside the band, Anderson achieved international solo success with Suddenly and played Ironbar Bassey in the 1985 film "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome." He was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 1993 for his work as a youth advocate, while Rose Tattoo entered the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006.
